Welgelegen Cherry Estate

 

Welgelegen Cherry Estate is situated in the Eastern Free State, 40 km from Clarens, lying in the picturesque Witteberg mountains and overlooking the Maluti mountains. Welgelegen is a working cherry and apple farm and the perfect place for an unforgettable experience.

Welgelegen facilities are purpose-built for weddings and events. The reception hall, bar, kitchen and bathrooms are designed as an integrated facility. A view overlooking the dam with the Maluti and Witteberg Mountains in the background sets the tone for an unforgettable weekend with fantastic photo opportunities. At Welgelegen we will ensure that your dream day will be an unforgettable and relaxed experience. The Venue is yours for the entire weekend. Welgelegen provides a relaxed farm and country atmosphere on a working cherry and apple farm.

Wedding Venue

A purpose event facility that can seat 250 people with a spacious dance floor. The facilities are wheelchair friendly.
A modern kitchen ensures delicious food and a menu with various choices. All the food are freshly prepared on the site and during the wedding.

The Chapel

The Sandstone Chapel can seat 150 guests inside the chapel, and another 50 outside on the covered veranda.

Private Bridal and Groom Suite

The luxurious onsite Bridal Suite is intimate and private, positioned at the foot of the mountains. The perfect setting for the bride to get ready to be transformed into a princess for her dream day. The Bridal Suite is perfect for that special evening.
The luxurious Groomsman House is perfect for the groom and his groomsman. It is facing the Witteberg mountains and overlooking the dam. This allows them to bond, share stories, and get ready for the ceremony without feeling rushed or stressed.
This tranquil staging area sets the mood and tempo for the wedding.
