Couple of the Year 2022 Terms & Conditions

1. The Couple of the Year competition runs from January to December of the same calendar year
2. To enter the SA Weddings Couple of the Year competition, participants must register on the www.saweddings.co.za website
3. The Couple of the Year competition is only open to couples who got married in the same year (1 January – 31 December) . Finalists will be required to send a copy of their marriage certificate to the SA Weddings team for verification
4. Couples are allowed to enter with non-professional wedding photos and are encouraged to register before their wedding
5. Entries for Couple of the Year close at the end of December at midnight
6. Our Finalists are chosen based on the number of votes received
   • R1.00 = One Vote
   • There are three bulk voting packages available directly through us. Send your proof of payment with your VOTE ID as reference to: danielle@saweddings.co.za
     • R1000.00 gives you 1000 votes
     • R500.00 gives you 500 votes
     • R250.00 gives you 250 votes

7. The couples with the most votes will become our 10 finalists
8. Voting for Couple of the Year takes place from 01 November and closes on 30 April the following year, at midnight
9. Votes of all couples remain confidential throughout the competition. Couples will only be able to view and know their own amount of votes
10. Votes are charged at R1.00 per vote
    • SA Weddings uses an outsourced service provider, SnapScan, to receive votes.
    • Various banking apps can also be used to vote by using the “Scan to Pay” function
11. The competition is not open to the directors and employees and their immediate families or sponsors
12. The competition is open to couples of all race, culture, religion, gender and sexual orientation
13. Finalists will be notified in May of the following year
14. The finale is on a date that is to be confirmed. Kindly note – SA Weddings will arrange accommodation for all finalists. Finalists must ensure that they are able to be in Cape Town for the final event at their own cost.
15. At the finale, a winner, 1st runner up and 2nd runner up will be awarded based on public votes cast by the audience.
    • The audience, both at the event and joining via live-stream, will have the opportunity to vote for the couple that they feel is most deserving
    • The voting system used on the night will be announced leading up to the event to ensure all audience members are prepared before voting starts
16. In the case of a draw for first place, the MC will be requested to cast an additional vote between the two finalists based on his/her experience with them over the weekend
17. There is only one (1) Grand Prize winner
18. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or another prize
19. The public's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into
20. The finalists whose weddings are featured as part of SA Weddings’ Real Wedding series, do not have any advantage pertaining to the outcome of the competition
21. SAWeddings.co.za reserves the right to make media and /or publications announcements about competition winners and entrants
22. The name of the winners will be published on www.saweddings.co.za along with their profiles
23. The organizers have the right to change or terminate the competition at their discretion
24. Entrants agree that the sponsor's parties are not responsible or liable for any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions in connection with, or resulting from, participation in the competition or acceptance of the prize.
25. Entering the SA Weddings Couple of the Year competition constitutes acceptance of the terms and conditions. Organisers reserve the right to amend these at any time
