Hudson’s is soon looking forward to celebrating twelve years as a wedding venue in the beautiful Winelands of the Western Cape. During that time we are proud to say that we have developed as leaders and innovators in our industry, as we have sought to create a comfortable, relaxing and visually beautiful atmosphere in which to celebrate one of the most important days in life’s journey.
Every year we have added new and exciting features at Hudson’s, bearing in mind that our brides have a vision of their chosen venue on this special day – it must be as beautiful as they are. The result, we believe, is magical. Two delightful venues, each unique in character, providing a glamorous backdrop for a fairytale occasion.
The wonderful backdrop of mountains and gardens, coupled with our South African sunshine, provide a tranquil setting for an outdoor wedding ceremony. Our picturesque dam, or fountains and rose arches, necessitate little as decoration. Rarely needed, but always available, is an indoor area should it be needed in case of inclement weather. Pre-drinks and canapés may be served on our rolling lawns, with ample space for games or other entertainment.
Our journey began with this firm favourite. It now boasts a large, glittering ball of Egyptian crystal, flanked by four more chandeliers and a generous amount of fairy lights that glitter in the ceiling to resemble stars. Shadow lighting can be used to frame the crystals and wash the walls in various colours. Another feature is mosaic pillars, also lit, and a wood effect floor perfect for dancing. Adjacent is our antique bar, which originally served as the ticket counter at Cape Town railway station. The hall venue is appointed with fabulous frameless glass doors which open onto magnificent mountain views and our beautiful floral garden and dam.
Situated on the first floor and accessed by two wide, easy-rise staircases or an elevator, this huge area was created some four years ago. It provides a magical space, with cathedral bamboo lined ceilings, featuring our signature glittering crystal chandeliers and candle lanterns. It is ideally suited for between 100 and 300 guests, and offers ample space for dancing with a DJ or band. Here too, is a contemporary styled, hand-crafted slate and oak bar, flanked by comfortable lounge areas for guests to relax. Magnificent views can be enjoyed through folding glass doors that open onto a large balcony with seating for guests. Each venue is serviced by its own state of the art kitchen and guest bathroom facilities.
