Magical Moments

When thinking about our wedding day, it's quite difficult to choose a highlight because every single moment and detail that went into the day has it's own unique memory and special aspect linked to it. If I had to choose a moment and this might be super clichè it would definitely be the moment after we said "I do". The realization and realness sets in that you are MARRIED! "OMW WHOOO HOO"

The Honeymoon

My husband planned the entire honeymoon which was so special because the thought that went into it means so much.
We Started our trip in Wilderness at Boardwalk Lodge, a beautiful honeymoon suite 150 steps up in the mountain with a stunning coastal view. In Wilderness we enjoyed going kloofing, hiking, kayaking and just spending time together.

Our second destination was Trogan House and Spa in The Crags. This venue is nestled in the forest and when you wake up surorunded by glass walls and trees you really feel like you are on honeymoon. This is such a peaceful venue to lounge by the pool, catch a tan and my husband arranged a spa afternoon where we received massages. Ultimate relaxation!

Our last stop was in keurboom strand at a private Airbnb located a few 100 meters from the private beach. We enjoyed swimming in the amazing warm water even in the rain as we couldn't miss out on opportunities if the weather didn't suit it.

On our honeymoon we celebrated each day with a bottle of champagne (don't judge haha) and we literally had the best food in all the destinations at the local restaurants. My foodie heart was happy!

Due to COVID we couldn't have gone to our initial plan which was Hawaii and I am so incredibly happy because we do really live in a beautiful country

My Wedding Inspiration

My Special Day

The wedding look I was aiming for was elegant, sleek and nothing too fancy. I had a beautiful low back lace dress with a removable skirt designed just for the ceremony bit.
My hair was done in a old Hollywood wave.

The Venue

We got married at a beautiful venue in Overberg: Murasie. The venue had accommodation for 27 people in cottages but they also supply tents which they set up and your guests only take their bedding. This worked out so amazing because we were able to do a weekend wedding !

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I am in the fortunate position of being a Aesthetic Therapist so I had all the beauty treatments at my finger tips.
I prepped my skin as I would normally do for my brides which is a combination of chemical peels, dermapen, a very good skincare regime and no sunbathing.

I did high intensity workouts 3-4 times a week and I followed a healthy diet which is normally part of our lifestyle.

This is so important to feel your utmost best and confident on your special day.

Wedding Elements

Husband Wife Team did all our flowers , décor and lighting. We used allot of dried flowers, pampas grass, ferns and some fresh flowers .

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The Groom and Groomsmen wore Black suits with white collared shirts and a very special teracotta tie and pocket square we found in a random shop in canal walk. Their boutonnieres was made by Husband Wife team who did all our decor and flowers

Beautiful Bridesmaids

Becuase two of my bridesmaids was pregnant we decided to go with adjustable skirt made from bon bon material. All 3 had different colour skirts and different tops and this blended so well with the whole colour scheme.

Marriage Officer

Our marriage officer was Ettiene Willemse from Grace Ife Tygerberg. He was such an amazing inspiration to us and to all our guests.

My Captured Moments

Chantall Marshall was our Photographer for our special day together with a second photographer, She is absolutely amazing and I cannot have imagined the day without her.

The Wedding Planner

We loved planning our wedding by ourselves but the venue had a coordinator on the day to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Wedding Transport

No transport was needed as the ceremony and venue was on the same farm

Food & Cake

Both of us are absolute foodies so the food was very important to us. We had Pauline Schreuder catering for the canapes, starter and main meal and Nuca bakery for all the confectionaries. We did not have a wedding cake.

Wedding Stationery

I designed out stationary and printed it at a local business in Hermanus

The Reception and Entertainment

One Night Only Music was our Dj company and Rory was the DJ. They are amazing and super professional and our dancefloor was not empty for one second. The did all the sound for the day and some of the lighting.

We did not go for dance lessons but watched and practiced on our song from a few online videos where we chose our favorite bits and pieces.
