Magical Moments

I guess as any bride would say " the whole day was very memorable and a true fairytale". I really felt like a princess on my big day. I was a little nervous, but when the nerves settled I was very happy. Driving in the vintage car was definitely memorable and a very, very special moment for me was when I walked down the isle to my future husband with my father. I absolutely loved every moment of my wedding day and wouldn't have changed a single thing. It was amazing!!

The Honeymoon

We went to Canonnier Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa which is based on a scenic peninsula close to Grand Bay on the North West Coast of Mauritius.

Wedding Gallery

My Special Day

My wedding look was traditional with a french twist to it. Karin Roode did my hair and makeup. My hair was half up and half down to the side with curls and my makeup was a classic modern look. I purchased my dream wedding dress from Cinderella's Closet and it was a white strapless, low back, lace up dress with lots of bead work and taylor layers. I purchased my shoes and garters from Smooch Bridal Online Wedding Store. My wedding shoes were white satin elegant sandals with a few rhinestones on and my garter had a blue bow on the lace. I wore crystal chandelier earrings and hair pins, which I purchased from Urban Angel, my necklace was a fine strand of pearls "(something old)" from my late gran, my bracelet was borrowed tennis crystal bracelet from my Maid Of Honour. My stitched edge cathedral veil I purchased from Little Bridal Boutique which is based in Capetown.

The Venue

We held our wedding ceremony at Shelanti Chapel, a Gothic style french Chapel located in De Hoewes in the quiet suburbs of Centurion, The Reception was held at Pheasant Hill; which is a quaint little wedding venue located on the outskirts of Irene in Centurion. There we guests that stayed over at Pheasant Hill on the wedding night (mainly family), and other guests chose to drive home as the venue location allowed for this.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

My bridal beauty regime was watching what I ate and how much I ate. I used to cycle on a mountain bike but I stopped a month before my wedding as I was preventing any possible injuries. I used an Estee Lauder face mask once a week that I did at home, as well as a regular facial cleansing routine. The day before the wedding my Mom, Maid Of Honour and Bridesmaids went for lunch at Aurelia's which is in Emperors Palace. After lunch my Sister - in - laws joined and we all went to Octavias Day Spa where we relaxed with Champagne in the heated jet pool and then had pedi's done. The evening before the wedding My Maid Of Honour and my parents made a bubble bath with rose petals by candle light so I could relax.

Wedding Elements

As you enter the doors to the chapel on the left was the toilets and the right we had waters and tissues which was personalized in a basket made by my mom in front of the mirror. In the Chapel, down the isle were white flower small and larger posies on the pews. At the front of the chapel to the left we had white roses with green penny gum on a tall cement pot and on the registry table we had penny gum and roses hanging off as well as the unity candles and sand ceremony. As you turned to leave the chapel there were white roses and ivy hanging from the gallery. We hand two ring bearers who wore black pants, braces with ear pieces, white shirts and a lanyard with their photos on to make them resemble "ring security". We went with a french theme wedding with a mix of classic yet modern. During the welcoming drinks we had white and blue checkered table clothes on the tables and we used the flower posies from the church isle for these tables, harvest table for guests to nibble on with a mixture of different beers and a help yourself gin and tonic table. Whilst the guests were enjoying their welcome drinks and snacks there was a French Viola playing music in the exquisite gardens of Pheasant Hill. The guests also enjoyed a caricature drawing during this time. Myself and my new husband were taking photographs during this time. My dad made a push flower trolley for my flower girl to push which she pushed in the reception with blush roses in and ivy. The center pieces for the tables were mirrors on the bottom with 3 tea light candles in holders with a tall square silver center piece with a mirror on top with blush and white roses mixed with penny gum and ivory. The ivy was draped down the sides. On the main table we had ivy with penny gum hanging from the front with white and blush roses spread in between as we had a long main table as we had our parents sitting at the table with us.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The Groom hired a charcoal grey three piece suit from The Dress Suit which he wore with black shoes, black tie, black belt and white collar shirt. The groomsmen bought grey suits at Woolworths and we rented waist coats for them also from The Dress Suit and they also wore black shoes and white collar shirts. The cuff-links for the groom were purchased at The Dress Suit and the groomsmen's were purchased at Findings in East Rand Mall.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

RaelynnRose Couture custom made my Maid of Honour and Bridesmaids dresses. They were silver sage satin and chiffon dresses with lace detailing on the bodice. the bodice also had a rouged effect, which was super fitting and flattering in every way. They wore silver heeled sandals purchased from The Shoe Empire, together with silver jewelry from Lovisa. We loved the look from Pinterest and carried it through to my wedding.

I had thee best photographer's and videographer a bride could ever wish for! My photographers were Morgan and Lexi from Neon Productions and the videographer was Ruan also from Neon Productions. All three of them made everyone feel so comfortable and at ease while taking all the photos. No I didn't make use of a photo booth as we had a caricature.

Wedding Transport

From Pheasant Hill to Shelanti Chapel I had a 1929 White Dodge that transported my father and I. The vintage car was hired from Memories Car Hire. From Shelanti to Pheasanti Hill the same 1929 White Dodge transported my husband and I back with personalized number plates. This made us feel very royal.

Food & Cake

All food was prepared by Pheasant Hill. We had a harvest table during welcoming drinks. We had plated starters which was a bite size butternut and red pepper egg frittata's served with cream cheese and micro herbs. The guests had a choice of mains - lamb shank or stuffed chicken with pepper dews and feta/ mozzarella with a creamy pepper dew sauce. Both meats came with rustic mash and vegetable bundle tied with bacon drizzled with red wine juis. For deserts the guests could choose between chocolate lava pudding with ice - cream or individual pavlova's. Our wedding cake was a traditional four tier cake made by J's Cake and Catering. We have kept the top tier (fruit cake) for our first wedding anniversary. The second tier was carrot, third tier was chocolate and last tier was vanilla cake. Our cake was absolutely delish!
