Magical Moments

We had a lot of fun at our wedding, one of my favourite moments was our first dance, we had a little surprise for everyone and halfway through did a quick hip hop section in the middle of our romantic dance.
There were actually so many amazing moments, we played the wedding shoe game which was a lot of fun. The speeches and everyone's heartfelt words will be in my heart forever. There was just too many incredible moments to single out one as my favourite

The Honeymoon

We went to Bali or 10 days, and toured around Bali, we started in Kuta then went to an island, Nusa Lembongan where we also went to a few other islands and then back to main island at Seminyak. We got so explore and see so much of the island and the surrounding islands. It was such an incredible experience

My Special Day

I got my dream dress from Whimiscal Bridal ( in Centurion) it was off white with different layers of lace and thin bling straps with a low lace back that hugged my body and flared out from my thighs- OMW that dress- so in love. I did my hair up in a romantic bun and with with glowy fresh makeup.
My wedding colours included Navy which I brought in with satin navy strappy heels from Forever new, these also had a bling element which complemented the straps on my dress.
Underwear I kept with the bridal theme and had pretty satin and lace lingerie, I also had a corsage in very similar lace to my dress
I kept the jewelry quite simple with drop Sapphire and diamond earrings to match my shoes and also a thin bling bracelet again to complement the straps of my dress

Dress and corsage: Whimsical bridal
Shoes: Forever New
Hair and Make-up was with Debbie Ellis

The Venue

We got married at the Ballroom Venue at Makiti Wedding Venue, Krugersdorp, Cradle of Human Kind.
The chapel and hall are stunning but really the grounds are breathtaking and have so many places to take stunning photos
Most of the guests stayed the night at the accommodation on the property, there were some guests who stayed in ear by accommodation

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I cross fit regularly so I kept with that, but from a few weeks before I ate very clean and avoided alcohol so that I wouldn't be bloated
I also drank A LOT of water to keep my skin clear and use Environ skin regime, cleansing and toning every night
I got my nails and toenails done at Tammy Taylor in Waterkloof
I also visited a tan can for 2 months leading up to the wedding so that I would be nice and brown

Wedding Elements

Our them colours were navy and lavender. The tables had white table cloths with navy organza on every second chair and around tall vases which were filled with fairy lights and topped with a flower arrangement of mixed purple and blue flowers.
The hall had wooden floors and white draping with fairy lights all through the ceiling and outside, it was fairy tale beautiful
We hired all the decorations from Makiti
Our table numbers were baby photos of myself and my husband when we were that age (e.g. table 1 had a photo of us each at age 1) this was on a small stand

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom had a navy suit, white shirt and navy tie with brown belt and shoes. The groomsmen all wore white shirts, with Grey pants, and navy suspenders and bow ties
Most of this was purchased at Woolies except the grooms suit which was custom made at Black Tie

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids each wore long lavender dresses and they chose the style of the top, so they all got to wear something that matched their personality while still looking uniform, the dresses were custom made from satin, soft organza and lace.
These were made for the girls by my stepmother

Marriage Officer

Pastor Jaco who owns Makiti wedding venue, he is absolutely brilliant and funny, made the church service feel so fast!

My Captured Moments

JC Crofford captured all the special moments. What is great about him is that he is one of the few photographers that dont have a time limit, so he was there pre-ceremony, during the ceremony and after, we even had a mini night photo shoot in the garden with all the fairy lights- so I really have some amazing photos!
He also guided me through it very well- we prepped a document before hand with ideas and a list of the photos I wanted so he made sure he really captured every moment I wanted

We also had a photo booth from Funky Photo Booth during the reception for the guest, whats really cool is that I got all the pics on a CD after to keep. They also give you an option of the different layouts and messages so you can personalize it nicely

The Wedding Planner

Makiti included a wedding planner and co-coordinator on the day
They really help making sure that the venue is perfect, DJ is perfect and everything happens exactly as you need it to happen

Wedding Transport

I didnt do wedding transport, myself and the bridesmaids slept at the venue the night before and we got ready in the honeymoon suite which was very close to the venue

Food & Cake

The wedding cake was made by a family friend, Dot Silifant, she made both my husbands cousins cakes- really delicious
It was three tiers, all different flavours- top tier was blue velvet to go with the navy theme, center tier was carrot because its my favorite and the third tier was raspberry and white chocolate (drool!)
This was all covered in white butter cream icing and she hand made sugar flowers that were lavender and blue to go with the theme

All the food from starters to dessert was catered by Makiti

Wedding Stationery

We really wanted to have a fun and personalized wedding, so I designed all the stationary myself and had it printed at various different places depending on what it was that I printed
We even designed our own website using photos from our engagement

The Reception and Entertainment

Luckily we have a dance instructor in the family, she worked out a really cue routine for us that started with an edited version of Ed Sheeran's Perfect, then cut away to Get Low for a small hip hop routine as a surprise for our guests, this then seamlessly flowed back into Ed Sheeran's Perfect
We practiced almost every day for a few weeks leading up to our wedding as there was quite a few lifts and with the hip hop routine we really needed to nail it!

Sound and lighting was done by the Makiti DJ
