Vondeling wedding venue is conveniently situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands. It is a mere 40 minutes’ drive from Cape Town, with surrounding towns Malmesbury, Durbanville, Riebeek Kasteel, Wellington and Paarl only 20 minutes away.
Like a chapel out of a fairy tale, the steeple of St. Clement rises over the Paardeberg. This charming chapel - complete with a thatched roof, locally made stained glass windows, beautiful wooden pews and church bell – combines old world charm with modern simplicity and makes it a unique place to exchange vows.
The transition to the reception is seamless, as the chapel is conveniently situated alongside the function venue—meaning you don’t have to trade in the views.
Wedding receptions are hosted in the classical function venue. Inside, the high thatch roof creates an elegant space and the influences of old Cape heritage as a common thread tying together nostalgia and minimal modern elegance. During the colder months, there’s a roaring fireplace to keep your guests warm. In summer and spring, receptions can be hosted on the shaded veranda overlooking the magnificent Paardeberg and surrounds or inside the airconditioned venue.
Vondeling caters for a maximum of 100 guests.
The immaculately restored Farm House was originally built in 1740. This historic example of Cape Dutch architecture offers seven luxurious en-suite bedrooms with mountain and garden views.
Surrounding the house are peaceful gardens with shaded terraces and a 20-metre swimming pool. There is also secluded BBQ area, croquet court and a spot lit tennis court.
The house offers a fully equipped kitchen as well as a dining- and sitting room; complete with a cosy fireplace. Add to that, a recreation area upstairs with snooker and satellite TV with all the necessary plug-ins and wi-fi.
A full English breakfast is served to guests daily.
