Magical Moments

Walking down the aisle in the quaint stone chapel at Kaleo Guest Farm brought tears to my eyes that I never expected, seeing my husband-to-be standing at the alter surrounded by all our family and closest friends brought me indescribable happiness.

Our first dance was interrupted by our precious little niece who was desperate to join in, making the moment even more perfect than I could have dreamed.

The Honeymoon

We are planning on going to the Kruger National Park in July for our honeymoon. We are proud South Africans and avid lovers of the bush.

My Special Day

My wedding dress was purchased at Once Worn Bridal, a fantastic business idea that resells once-used dresses at great prices as well as helping the environment by planting a tree for each dress purchased.

My hair and make-up were done by Anmar from Anuk Hair in Ceres.

I received a very special engraved locket from my bridesmaids to wear down the aisle and wore pearl earrings from my oldest friend as my something borrowed.

The Venue

We got married at Kaleo Guest Farm, a stunning venue out in the Koue Bokkeveld. The scenery was indescribable and the staff were beyond helpful in ensuring the day ran smoothly. The best part about this farm was the ample accommodation available, allowing all my guests to stay at the venue for the whole weekend.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I am not a big girly-girl and must admit I did not do much prep leading up to the wedding. However, the bridal party and myself did go to Milk & Honey beauty salon in Kenilworth, Cape Town to get our nails done and were greeted by such friendly and accommodating ladies.

Wedding Elements

All decor and flowers were done by the venue and my word did they do a stunning job! The bridal bouquets were beautiful cascades of pennygum and olive leaves interspersed with small white flowers. The tables decor had pennygum running down the length of each table, with more white flowers, pillar candles and floating candles. The venue was very attentive to my requests and everything was decorated absolutely perfectly!

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom and groomsmen kept it very simple with beige chinos and white shirts (to cope with the desert heat).

Beautiful Bridesmaids

The bridesmaids wore sage green dresses from the UK and all looked stunning in the various styles of dress that they chose.

Marriage Officer

Willie was an absolute gem! He was very attentive to our wishes to keep the ceremony light and fun and conducted himself perfectly!

My Captured Moments

Cahwilmi from Miss Cee Photography was our photographer. She was super friendly and very accommodating when the groom got tired of taking pictures! But she did a wonderful job of capturing all the special moments and, being familiar with the venue, knew the best spots to take our photos using the stunning scenery at the farm.

The Wedding Planner

No.

Wedding Transport

No transport needed.

Food & Cake

Pauline and Lolandri from Pauline Schreuder Catering organised the food. Not only was it very reasonably priced, but it was absolutely delicious too! I opted to make my own wedding cake as I am quite an avid baker.

Wedding Stationery

No stationery.

The Reception and Entertainment

We did not take dance lessons (maybe we should have, as we are not the most talented dancers) but Brian Hart from Deejays Music did a great job of managing the music, he was very accommodating of all wide array of genres we wanted to listen to and was quick to play any song requests.
