One of the most special moments was starting the day with a peaceful breakfast on the farm, surrounded by my closest girls, soaking in the calm before the celebration began. Later, seeing them in their bright pink dresses brought such a beautiful burst of colour and energy to the day. Walking down the aisle and seeing my husband standing there in tears, framed by the dam and mountains, is a moment I will cherish forever. The sunset-inspired flowers and décor added warmth and romance to every space, perfectly complementing the natural beauty of the venue. Throughout the day, I kept having those quiet realisations that all my favourite people were in one place, sharing every laugh, tear, and celebration with us. The balance between the romantic farm setting and the modern barn for the reception felt so perfectly “us,” and turning it into a full wedding weekend made it even more meaningful. Dancing until early hours of the morning with the people we love most was the most magical way to end a truly unforgettable celebration.
Yes, we honeymooned in Mauritius at Crystals Beach Resort in Belle Mare.
My bridal look was soft, romantic, and intentionally minimal. I wore the Emily Gown by Rosa Karroo Bridal, chosen for its sleek satin silhouette that felt modern, confident, and timeless. My hair was styled in a low bun with loose, curled face-framing pieces to mimic the flow of the dress sleeves while showing off the open back, and my makeup was done by Amé (@Ameskinmuah), creating a natural soft-glam look that enhanced my features without overpowering them. I paired the look with white satin pointed heels and kept my jewellery simple, wearing only earrings from Fynbos Wedding Shoppe, featuring delicate pearls and porcelain flowers. By skipping a necklace and extra accessories, the dress was given the space to truly shine.
We got married at Langkloof Roses in Wellington, a breathtaking rose farm that felt both romantic and tranquil. Many of our guests stayed on the venue for the entire weekend, with accommodation for around 40 of our closest family and friends in charming cottages and beautifully styled rooms. Having everyone together from start to finish created an intimate, relaxed atmosphere and turned our wedding into a meaningful weekend celebration rather than just a single day.
In the lead-up to the wedding, I intentionally kept my beauty routine simple and stress-free. I didn’t change my diet, skincare, or fitness habits, choosing instead to stick to my normal gym routine and focus on balance during an already busy time. I’ve been using Mesoestetic skincare for quite some time before the wedding which I believe played a big role in my skin looking healthy and natural on the day. I did not go for extra treatments like lashes, facials or teeth whitening before the wedding day. The only pre-wedding indulgence was having my nails done at Base Coat in Melkbosstrand, shared with all my girls, my mom, and my mother-in-law. This was such a special, relaxed moment that became a beautiful memory in itself.
Our décor was inspired by warm sunset tones and the joy of an autumn celebration. I envisioned bright pinks and oranges layered with hints of mustard yellow and soft purple, creating a romantic yet vibrant atmosphere. Monet at MH Conservatory brought this to life through the florals and table décor, including besutiful coloured candles and other items that added warmth and intimacy. Fairy lights, umbrellas, and lawn games from Goeters, along with lounge pieces from Langkloof Roses, added both elegance and playfulness. Personal, handmade stationery created with friends and family added a meaningful DIY touch, while Soundprint Weddings completed the atmosphere with music, DJ, and dance floor lighting that carried the celebration late into the night.
The groom wore a custom-made all-black, three-piece suit by Tidy Tux Tailors. The groomsmen wore rented black suits with white shirts and black bow ties from Eurosuit.
My bridesmaids wore bright pink, three-quarter-length dresses with soft, flowy skirts, made by Natalia Trisolino. To keep the look cohesive yet personal, each bridesmaid chose her own top design in the same colour, allowing everyone to feel comfortable and confident. Their hair was styled in sleek low ponytails with soft curls, paired with gold or pearl jewellery, matching nude shoes with a delicate bow, and natural-toned nails. The overall look was vibrant, but elegant.
We had the incredible privilege of being married by my cousin, which made the ceremony even more personal and heartfelt.
We had two photographers and a videographer from Boland Weddings, who captured our day in the most beautiful and authentic way. They were truly incredible! Instead of a photo booth, we chose an audio guestbook by Chatterbox, where guests could leave heartfelt voice messages, one of the most meaningful keepsakes from our wedding.
We didn’t have a wedding planner. My husband and I planned everything ourselves. We were incredibly supported by our family and friends, who stepped in wherever needed and helped bring our vision to life, making the day feel deeply personal and truly special.
We didn’t use any transport services, as our wedding was a full weekend celebration with guests staying over on the venue and nearby.
The food was prepared by Linda Bruyns Catering, and it was absolutely incredible! One of the highlights of the weekend and something our guests still talk about. Our wedding cake was made by my colleague, Mandy Nel, and it was just as special as it was delicious, adding a beautiful personal touch to the celebration.
I designed all of our wedding stationery myself using Canva, and the printing was done by PostNet, who did a great job.
We had a beautiful reception with Soundprint Weddings providing the DJ for the entire wedding day, as well as the reception lighting. We took dance lessons at Dance Domain in Table View and performed a ballroom-style first dance.
