Magical Moments

My entire wedding from start to finish was just the most perfect day I have ever had!

When I walked down the aisle, I had my brother and male cousins walk me down while they held my mothers wedding sari over my head. Traditionally, a structure with copious amounts of flowers are held over the bride as she walks down to add to the beauty of the bride however I chose to have this structure to be adorned with my mothers wedding outfit which she wore over 30 years ago on her wedding day.

As I began to get closer to the end of the aisle, I saw the tears running down my husbands face and I just knew in that moment that he would love and care for me for the rest of my life like no other can.

During the wedding ceremony, whilst we were exchanging rings, the priest handed my husband a ring and announced that it was a surprise for me. We had agreed to use existing rings for the exchange, however my husband surprised me with a wedding band!

Our reception was the most amount of fun we have ever had. We danced and partied the entire night away!

The Honeymoon

We went to Nambiti Game Reserve for our honeymoon. This was the first time that we had stayed in a game reserve and the experience was absolutely amazing.
Our luxury suite overlooked a watering hole where we had magnificent sightings of hippos, giraffe, waterbuck and many other wonderful birds and insects.
Our suite was very private and the huge glass doors onto the private deck on our suite could be fully opened to either lay on the bed with the fresh air and views or in the luxury bath tub while looking out at the beauty of nature.

Our entire trip was planned for us by the lodge, we had time slots for our spa treatments that we had booked as well as for our game drives and private romantic dinners! It was a carefree holiday, with no stress of planning. We had a dedicated guide for the entire trip who informed us of all the timings.

The game drives included sunrise and sunset drinks on plateau's that gave vast breathtaking views of the reserve.
We experienced all of the big 5 at close range with exception of the Leopard.

It was an unforgettable experience!

My Special Day

I wore a traditional red wedding outfit from a bridal boutique called Shringaar .
The skirt of my outfit was adorned with woven gold patterns while my veil was beaded and embroidered with gold accents.

My jewellery consisted of a neck chain as well as a longer chain that draped itself over the front of my blouse. Both my wrists were filled with bangles as well as kaleras which are long umbrella shaped ornaments attached to the bangles which is a sign of a blessing for the marriage.
All my jewellery was emerald green which made the red on my outfit pop. The colour combination was very different from the traditional Indian bride look but it looked stunning.

My hair and make up was done by the dream team of "Miss Make Up", Upasana Jugroop, Mbali and Kogie.
My eye look was a smokey brown eye brushed with bronze with a beautiful long set of eyelashes.

The Venue

We got married at the picturesque Maroupi Wedding Venue.
The manicured gardens and views of rolling hills made the perfect venue for our day.

Our closest group of friends and siblings stayed at the accomodation on the venue.

Wedding Elements

The talented Kavesh Manick from Events by Design was the master of our decor and floral arrangements.

For our mandap, the structure was gracefully draped with blush pink fabrics and gold royal structures with a white and gold chaise. . In essence, the Mandap serves as the altar for Indian weddings. The backdrop had strings of beads with a Silk floral detail arrangement of one of deities, Ganesh, who symbolizes wisdom, understanding, and a discriminating intellect that one must possess to attain perfection in life.
There were Fresh rose petal design along aisle with lanterns on either side.

The reception venue was adorned with floral arrangements on each table, with gold chargers, alternating bold centre piece. The main stage had Fairy lights, Hanging geometric lanterns, silk floral details along with a magnifient cake swing which was suspended from the ceiling.

My Captured Moments

The National Video Vision team encapsulated our entire day in their creative photos and videos.
Their team were amazing. We felt so comfortable infront of the camera and the team always made sure that we were always looking and feeling our best!

The Wedding Planner

I planned my entire wedding on my own and did not have a coordinator for the day.
We had a master of ceremonies for the reception proceedings but everything else was planned by myself in a way that it would all run smoothly on the day.

The Reception and Entertainment

We had Dj Anid from DFM Sound & lighting. He really created a vibe for the dance floor the entire night.
