Magical Moments

Most memorable moments would probably be the following:

Seeing friends and family that I have not seen since COVID started
Walking down the isle and seeing my emotional husband awaiting me
Having my mom button my dress up for the final time
Seeing my dad extremely emotional for the first time
Walking into the reception holding hands with my husband
Our first dance
My brother was not able to attend as he was abroad and could not come to South Africa due to restrictions, he however still made sure to deliver his speech via a pre-recorder message and I was able to video call him later the night.

The Honeymoon

My husband planned the whole honeymoon- we left the day after our wedding (Sunday). Everyday I was given a clue on our next destination. Our whole trip was as following. Sutherland | Matjiesfontein | Prince Albert | Oudtshoorn | Warmbadberg Spa | Montague. We actually ended up getting COVID on honeymoon only realising towards the end we are actually really sick. So we will have to do another honeymoon.

My Special Day

I went for a timeless elegant off the shoulder dress and up style soft glam look. I had pearls that was given to me by my mother included in the dress as buttons on the back.

The Venue

We got married and had our reception at Damarakloof Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. The venue has a small chapel where we got married. The venue itself has many special elements and would be considered a very vintage look. The chairs are mis-matched and the cutlery is old china wear.

Our whole wedding party and their partners, as well as our parents stayed on the estate the weekend of the wedding.

The main house has a large entertainment area where we could all come together the night before. Due to lock down restrictions, our guests had to leave at 9 and our venue be closed by 10. That did no stop us to have our 'after party' at the main house which was amazing.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I did a fitness challenge to get 'wedding body ready" at Forever Strong Durbell in Durbanville and lost 9.9 kgs's.
I did my nails at Laser Lab in Stellenbosch

Wedding Elements

Our venue included many of the décor elements. Our venue owner has the largest collection of vintage copper and silver goods in the country. The have stock rooms where I could go and pick out my own décor for the wedding. This included the décor for the tables and the ceremony.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

I wanted a spring time look for my bridesmaid in emerald green (my favorite colour). I wanted a dress that was unique and also something that they would wear again. I came across a lady in Wellington that would design and make the dresses for me. We went material shopping in Woodstock and she helped design the perfect look. The dress is a wrap dress tailor made to each bridesmaid.

Marriage Officer

Gavin Swanepoel
We also did his pre-marriage course called "the recipe" in order for him to get to know us better and for us to understand the dynamics of our marraige.

My Captured Moments

Photographer: Chantel and May Photography

She made us feel comfortable. We did a engagement shoot with her as well in order for her to get to know our style. We received our photos in amazing time and was blown away by the detail and care she took in capturing our perfect day.

Food & Cake

Food was catered from the venue and our wedding cake was done by a family member.

The Reception and Entertainment

We had a DJ play music all night long, he also did the lighting.

TLC Sound Solutions

We did not take dance lessons but we definitely did a couple of rounds in the lounge to practice.
