Magical Moments

it's Magic for Shore

After waiting 2 years to finally have our day with our family from America present it was nothing short of magical. Albeit freezing with polar winds we were blessed with spectacular mountain views, a dreamy sunset and the most brilliant New Moon casting light on our celebration around the bonfire.

Finally getting to have our ceremony and share our love with our nearest and dearest - nothing could have beaten that, each moment was full to the brim with emotion and happy tears - something we will remember as long as we live.

The Honeymoon

Unfortunately due to Covid constraints we haven't been able to go on honeymoon but plan to do so sometime in 2022. Fingers crossed x

My Special Day

I opted for a celestial vibe with tonal colours of dusty pink, copper and rust. The celestial inspiration came from little woven lace stars in the fabric we used to create my dress. Being in the fashion industry I have dreamed of my dress for the longest time and after finding the perfect fabric from Minty's in Durban I sat down and designed the dress of my dreams, to which I presented to Madelaine Clark Exclusive and wow did she bring that drawing to life. My dress was a fully beaded mermaid gown with a corsetry look and ostrich feather puff sleeves.

My make up was done by the incredible Laura & Co Artistry - the only person I trust with my make up, she did two looks for me, one using my bridal trial for our legal ceremony done a year before - thanks Covid and then a more striking moodier look for our actual wedding day - LOVED both she is just phenominal

My hair was done by Studio Sass, we practiced this look for months to nail the perfect waves for this day and I'm so thrilled with how it turned out! We used some gold celestial hair clips from Lovisa to finish the look off.

The shoes were ordered from Superbalist - the Ayda glitter block heel in rose gold which were perfect for the look I was going for and then I changed into platform sneakers from Call It Spring to cut up the dance floor appropriately.

My chosen Jewelry - all family inspired - my grandmothers rings including a crescent pinky ring and a sapphire and diamond cluster (something borrowed and blue). My necklace was a gift from my Aunt on my husbands side, a gift from her darling late husband and finally my earrings were celestially fit found in a little boutique store in the heart of Hillcrest.

The Holly Garter - with the perfect amount of bling came from the wedding garter online store with the sweetest touch of a personalized ribbon with your names and wedding date - I decided to use our legal wedding date instead of the wedding celebration.

The Venue

We got married at the incredible Shalwyn Venue during a full blown pandemic. So what started out as us using their forest space for our ceremony over the year and a half wait we decided to use their newly found Eagles Nest Mountain top. BREATHTAKING - every guest raved about the setting and Leanne is the most incredible and compassionate person to work with - what a woman! Due to restrictions at the time we couldn't use their indoor reception venue and had to have our reception outside in the garden by the accommodation and although the day was full of polar winds and chills - the setting was beautiful and nothing a good bonfire couldn't fix. Most of our guests were accommodated for at the Shalwyn Venue but there was plenty of accommodation in the area for the overflow of guests.

Wedding Elements

Having 2 years to plan I DIYed alot of our decor, from painting jars, creating dried floral arrangements and even sticking hundreds of 10 cent coins onto our perspex surname sign which would have made the perfect main table back drop had COVID not interfered. In saying that many hands came together to make this day magical:
