My bridesmaids and I stayed at Meerendal in Durbanville. It was so incredible to spend quality time with the people you love. The groom stayed at D'aria cottages with his groomsmen and family.
It was such a special moment when my dad saw me for the first time in my wedding dress. It is such a big moment in a girl/ woman’s life. A moment I’ve been dreaming of forever. That moment I tapped him on his shoulder and he turned around can never be forgotten.
When he walked me down the isle and I saw my husband to be - I realised that I’ve dreamt of this day for so long. I am a hopeless romantic. This is the moment most girls dream of, so needless to say, it was just so perfect.
Our wedding was blessed with a whole day of downpour and at one point I felt so bummed. But i decided that I was not going to let the rain ruin this day I've been dreaming of forever. If we had to stand in the pouring rain to get the photos we need, I was prepared to do anything. Despite the downpour, our day was perfect. And we got the best memories.

My husband and I went on honeymoon for 2 weeks. We decided to do a road trip and spent a few nights at a few different places along the garden Route. We stayed at moontide in Wilderness, Elephant Hide lodge in Knysna, the fernery lodge in Tsitsikamma and trogan house in the crags What an experience it was and a good feeling to be supporting local. We will definitely do it again.
I wanted long curly hair for my special day. I wanted to feel like a princess. I purchased a beautiful pin for my hair at Lovisa - which of course had some bling on it and small white flowers. I am a sucker for floral things. (FYI, I got matching earrings at Forever new that I knew would look amazing with my loose curls)
My MU was done by Lee-Anne Heinse. We decided on natural colours and a nude Mac lipstick. What an experience. She is so talented
My Glass heels were from Aldo. I knew these would match perfectly with my wedding gown I purchased from Tying the Knot. My dress is an Enzoani gown from the Elysee range
My mother made my veil. She sewed each and every pearl onto my veil. I appreciate her so much and it definitely finished my bridal look off so well.
The garters I purchased from all things bridal. Of course, these also had small delicate lace flowers sewn onto it.

I was determined to try and eat healthy and drink lots of water. So I followed a 6 week challenge from Jenna Carmen. I stuck to this eating plan for a year while i was waiting to get married.
I use Hey Gorgeous face products. So I maintained a good facial routine. And I did a few teeth whitening sessions using opalescent teeth whitening gel purchased from my dentist
We had such great suppliers who were open to all my ideas. Blomlief used a combination of white and greens with touches of yellow and delft decor that we rented from my pretty vintage. We used a combination of crystal candle and copper stands in various lengths. Our table numbering was done in perspex. Each table had a soft chiffon runner with lots of candles to create the romantic look.
Authentic Planning created a fairytale backdrop with an array of fairylights. Our biggest centrepiece was Our classy perspex bridal table filled with florals.We hired this from Happinest hire. Framing our bridal table was a free standing floral arch that we rented from Goeters, along with the rustic wooden palette tables. All the florals were done by Blomlief.

The cake was made by Kanya Hunt at Hunt House Kitchen. It was a 3 tier dessert cake inspired by Kanya's role model. Each tier was a different flavour. And each tier was encased in white chocolate and decorated with white chocolate flowers. It was a real show stopper and displayed on a plinth in the center of our venue

I created my own online wedding invitations on 'Joy' wedding website. They had a delft inspired template.
I wanted to incorporate more delft onto my tables. Sam from Pretty in stains created the tags i attached to my take home gifts as well as the seating chart. These all had a delft bloom pattern. She is so creative and professional and we appreciate her contribution to making our wedding extra spectacular.
My wedding programmes were newspapers and these were designed by Troulantyntjies based in George.
Werner and I choreographed our first dance. My dress had a very long train, so movement was limited. We had a choose a slow paced song that still meant a lot for us. We danced to "the one by Kodaline". We did a few turns and drops and we were later joined by the bridal party and the rest of our guests. What a special moment to dance with your husband for the first time as a married couple.
We used Frank from rainbow sound. He was great and so accommodating. He made sure we had a good time dancing the night away.
During pre drinks, we Had a marimba band very well known in Hermanus for playing at the Old Harbour. And Wow. Our guests were impressed and it was something different.
