Magical Moments

My most memorable moments are the ones that weren't perfect but we made it work. My DJ played the wrong song as I walked down the aisle but having my father next to me made the moment perfect.

I also remember being very clear that my guests need to be on time so we don't run late but I'm the one who made them wait for 45 minutes.

To some these aren't memorable moments but the fact that we can laugh about it now makes it memorable.

The Honeymoon

Getting married during a world-wide pandemic made traveling nearly impossible. We planned on visiting Guam, Germany and Australia not only for out honeymoon but also visit my husband's family that I have not met personally or were unable to travel.

My Special Day

I like sexy but still sophisticated. A little vintage yet modern. I know, I am complicated. My wedding was just that. My make-up and jewelry was minimal. I did my own hair because I knew exactly what I wanted. I only wore a white gold bracelet, white lace underwear, clear shoes (which one of my best friends bought).

My dress was designed by myself and made by a family friend and owner of Perez Collection in Wellington.

The Venue

We got married on a little deck overlooking the water at the beautiful Dawn Mountains in Simondium.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I've struggled with my skin for as long as I can remember but leading up to my big day the brilliant Carlynn Andrews. She also did my and my bridesmaids make-up on the day.

Wedding Elements

I love the idea of being inside but feeling like you outside. That is exactly the atmosphere Moerat Events created. I have a beautiful floral backdrop with flowers everywhere. Outside we had little white cocktail tables with big white umbrellas for guests.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groomsmen wore light grey suites from Mr Suite hire while the groom had his custom made by Gareth Duncan Suites.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids needed to be comfortable and being modest women I really had to think about their dresses.

I bought teacup-heel shoes from Zando for each of them had burgundy infinity dresses made with small gold accessories from Superbalist.

Marriage Officer

My Captured Moments

Like so many brides i was dissappointed at the last minute by my first photographer but the beautiful Laikin from Laikin Photogprahy saved the day and captured all out beautiful moments.

The Wedding Planner

Being the control freak that i am, i planned my own wedding along with my now husband.

Wedding Transport

I drove myself to the venue on the day but we didn't need any other transport as everything happened on the estate and was within walking distance.

Food & Cake

The perks of having a mother who bakes means free wedding cake. My mother made a beautiful 3-tiered naked cake and my catertering was done by Caffe Villagio.

Wedding Stationery

I am an Art Director by trade and being able to design my own stationery was such a privilege.

The Reception and Entertainment

My husband's sister was a dancing instructor so she gave us a lesson or two and made use of a local DJ.
