How did your love story begin?

We met in 2014 when we were 15, and 17 years old respectively. I moved to Mossel Bay from Pretoria and my fiancé, Reinhardt, was the first person I met in my new school. In 2015, I receive a DM. Reinhardt: "Just marry me?". Suegnet: "Are we going to have a lot of money ;) ?". Reinhardt: "I'll even rob a bank".

After this conversation, I snuck out of my parents' house one night. Reinhardt came to pick me up and took me to Mossel Bay's lookout point. On a picnic blanket and under the stars, we enjoyed each other's company until midnight.

After many coffee dates at my parents' home, Reinhardt called my father to ask if he could take me on a date. He clearly did something right, because at the end of the evening, I planted a kiss on him.

At the end of high school, the long distance relationship began. I went to study BCom Law at Stellenbosch University and Reinhardt continued with the family business in Mossel Bay. After many weekend visits, house dances, tears and wine farms, I moved back to Mossel Bay after completing my studies.

We are currently living in the beautiful coastal town of Mossel Bay and enjoy cooking together, exploring the Garden Route and visiting any unique and quirky restaurant.

Tell us all about the proposal.

On 4 December 2020 (exactly 1 year before our wedding), we visited Bakenhof as a possible wedding venue. After falling in love with the venue, Reinhardt took me to the front lawn to celebrate with sparkling wine. He asked me (who can't even open a coke bottle) to open the sparkling wine. When I turned around, Reinhardt was on his knees with the most beautiful ring in his hand. "Marry me?", he asks. I was completely surprised and could not say "yes" quick enough! Our perfect proposal ended with a photoshoot in the vineyard and we went for an MCC brunch afterwards.

It really was the most romantic day of our lives and we can't wait to spend forever together!
