Magical Moments

It was an exquisitely beautiful half sunny, half rainy day - perfect just like Marnis and I like it.

Getting ready and spending time with my bridesmaid - my cousin and best friend - Tammy.

Walking down the aisle with my lovely mom to meet the love of my life - to proclaim our love for each other by exchanging vows.

Spending quality time together with my husband during our photo session and with loved ones at the reception and of course dancing the night away in each other's arms.

The Honeymoon

We spent our memorable honeymoon over the December holidays taking our first-time trip along the exquisite Garden Route - first driving through to the emaculate Gariep Dam where we spent the night at a guest house. We then drove through to Port Alfred and stayed by my Uncle Alan and family there.

We then went to the amazing Addo Elephant Park where we spent an unforgettable four nights, taking part in the adventure tours - quad biking, cruising, sandboarding and Safari Game drives and relaxing in the pool. We were spoilt and got treated like royalty by the staff.

After that we drove through Jeffery's Bay to get to my cousin Eric's residence in beautiful George. We then took a leisurely scenic drive through Tsitsikamma Rainforest, to Storms River Mouth and stopped by the 60s diner for lunch before finally driving through to our Cape Town family in Tableview where we stayed a few nights before enjoying two weeks alone by my Aunty Anne's house. We returned to Aunty Denise's place to end off our Cape Town holiday before backtracking to Gariep Dam and Colesburg and returning home.

My Special Day

I got my beautiful white A-line halter neck dress designed by Teresa at wedding connexions, adjusted designs by myself based on my Aunty Rene's dress from when I was her flower girl at age 7. The sequence decorated the bodice and then flowed in dainty strips down the length of the dress with a short trail to be pinned up and a stunning veil.

My hair and makeup was done by Madelaine in Centurion - she was just magnificent. I found out about her through my photographer Francie and she came out all the way to the wedding venue on the day.

My nails were beautifully done with acrylic gel by one of my learner's parents - Marinda Elbourne in Springs.

The Venue

We got married at the exquisite Riverside Country Estate in Springs. Our guests slept over at nearby family members. There is however accommodation at the venue and there's a guest house up the road for convenience.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

We were eating healthily keeping to a balanced diet. We gymed and kept fit regularly. We went for facials by our beautician in Western Extension - Aunty Gill. We applied facial masks regularly. We went for teeth whitening by our dentist Dr Jansen in Farrarmere and we had a few messages before the time.

Wedding Elements

Our colour scheme was pastel shades, we had pastel coloured drapes draped over the round white table clothed tables, centered with lilly arrangements and candles. We had beautiful golden designed under plates. White covered soft cusion chairs were used. Fairy lights were draped up the pillars and to the centre of the ceiling. All of this was provided by Riverside Country Estate.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom - Marnis Beyers wore a black suit with white glitter spots, a white shirt with black tips and a black bow tie, black shoes and black leather belt. This was bought at Oriental Plaza.

The best man, his brother - Armand wore a brown suit, brown and golden tie with a white shirt and black belt and shoes also bought at Oriental Plaza.

The MC, Marnis' best friend - Tyrone wore a blue suit, white shirt, blue tie and black belt and shoes also purchased at Oriental Plaza in Johannesburg.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaid wore a long pastel peach cross-your-heart dress with sequence on the bodice and moving down the length of her dress and floral gold shoes purchased at Oriental Plaza

Marriage Officer

Our Marriage Officer was Reverend Zuks from Northfield Methodist Church in Northmead where we officially tied the knot on 2/12/2021.
Marnis' uncle - Uncle Johan Potgieter married us in the outdoor chapel at the venue on 5/12/2021 where we had a second delightful service and exchanging of vows before our families.

My Captured Moments

Our photographer was Fransie who l found out about through a friend from work. She was brilliant with the pre wedding photo shoot and the wedding photos.

The Wedding Planner

Yes, Tracey from Riverside Country Estate helped us plan and organise everything and most of what we needed they provided.

Wedding Transport

I came with Tammy my cousin in her car and the men arrived there in Marnis' Audi A4. All the guests arrived with their own transport.

Food & Cake

The food - our two course buffet style dinner and two desserts were prepared by the chefs of Riverside Country Estate.

My Aunty Jakkie made our wedding cake consisting of carrot cake cupcakes and a small carrot cake for cutting on the top covered in delicious icing and decorated with chocolate balls and pieces of fudge.

Wedding Stationery

My cousin Max and his wife Nicoleen designed and printed our invitations. They also made our seating plans and the thank you cards.

The Reception and Entertainment

Our reception was in a quaint and romantic hall. We had a DJ - Gary, who entertained us with his music.
