Magical Moments

A highlight for me was walking down the aisle and seeing my husband to be standing at the end and seeing the beautiful set up that Heike and Anne had created for us with the stunning flower canopy.

Another highlight was walking into the venue at Quoin Rock and being blown away by the incredible creation by Anne Mann and Heike and what they had created in that space.

The dessert table reveal which we had curated by the amazing Wades Cakes was another wow moment, our first dance under a roof of fairy lights outside and under the stars.

and lastly just the party we had thanks to Me and Mr Green who really made our wedding such fun!

I could go on and on haha

The Honeymoon

We had our honeymoon planned for the Maldives but because of Covid and travel restrictions we planned a last minute trip to Singita Lebombo and then onto Zanzibar and stayed at And Beyond Mnemba Island which was the most incredible experience, there are only 12 huts on the beach and it is described as barefoot luxury as you dine with your feet in the sand and under the stars, it was the best experience and we swam with dolphins every morning.

My Special Day

My wedding look I wanted to go for was modern Boho Chic, hair was done by Irina Grant and we did a few pieces braided back with the rest down and some curls.

My make-up was natural but defined focusing on a beautiful dark smokey eye and clear and glowing skin with nude lips.

My wedding dress was a pronvias dress (the Syrinx dress) bought from Veil Bridal Couture in Johannesburg coupled with a three meter long veil (also bought from Veil Bridal Couture) it was stunning and paired so beautifully with the dress being simple and elegant with lace all around the edges.

Wedding Shoes: Jimmy Choo (the Romy Shoe)

Jewellery: Rings from Browns and then a beautiful surprise wedding gift from my (now husband) a stunning tennis bracelet from browns

Lingerie: Garter was made at veil bridal couture, lingerie was from Victoria secret

The Venue

We got married at Quoin Rock Wine Estate in Stellenbosch and we rented the Manor House (on the estate) for the weekend, it was absolutely incredible.

We had our rehearsal dinner on the Friday night in the gardens surrounding the manor house with a beautiful table set up by Anne and Heike and catered by Annalize catering and had the amazing Quoin Rock wines as we watched the sun set with family and close friends, that was truly a magic moment.

We also had a pool party at the Manor House on the Sunday which was really nice as we made a full weekend celebration of the wedding.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

My Regime leading up to the wedding:

Health and fitness:
1. Sweat 1000
2. Intermittent fasting (the 16- 8 method) where you only can eat for max 8 hours per day
3. Calorie counting
4. Swimming at the Silo gym
5. Walking my dogs on the mountain
6. Boxing at Madfit with my coach Wade
(mixing it up so I did not get board and started a good 6 months out from the wedding so as not to panic too close to the day)

Skin:
1. Pumpkin Peels at Atlantic Dermatology and laser as well as blue and red laser treatments to help prevent acne and to give my skin a great glow.

Teeth:
Optismile- the best for any teeth concerns and I had my teeth whitened there

Spa treatments:
Pure Awakening- a great company I have been using for years who sends a massage therapist to your house so I would try to get a massage in once a month, increasing to one every 2 weeks before the wedding (deep tissue)

Wedding Elements

Our decor was simply beautiful, Anne and Heike had the amazing idea to cocoon us in flowers (so a smaller structure within a bigger venue) and it made the whole experience feel like a fairytale, there with flowers everywhere and we had our own bridal table and then the dancefloor and bars were outside and it was the perfect weather to be out on that stunning lawn outside the venue and over looking the mountains.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

Wes wore a custom tuxedo made by Frank Bespoke, they made his shirt and pocket square as well and he looked absolutely incredible. His shoes were from Hugo Boss.
Groomsmen wore suits they had already and all accessories came from Frank Bespoke.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids wore dresses that I managed to find at Scarlet Fashion, they were all the same dress and fitted all my bridesmaids beautifully. The Dresses were floor length and a darker more dusty pink in colour.

Marriage Officer

Our marriage Officer was father John Miller a family friend who is a pastor and came through on the day to marry us.

My Captured Moments

Nina Zimolong was our photographer and she was amazing! we booked a package with here were we did an engagement shoot before (which I would highly recommend for anyone who is not used to being in front of a camera!) she just has a great way of making you feel relaxed and her images are natural, beautiful, elegant and simply stunning.

Hauke Wedding Films were the videographers and they were incredible, they also made me feel very relaxed and just went about doing there thing and were extremely professional and easy to deal with.

The Wedding Planner

We had Anne Mann (Anne Mann Celebrates) as our wedding planner and she was incredible, we could never have pulled off that wedding without her.

Wedding Transport

We stayed on the property so everyone went down in their own cars to the venue, I had a family friend drive me down in our BMW X5

Food & Cake

Quoin Rock did all the catering, they did an outstanding job as they are traditionally a fine dining restaurant (Gate) and I said to them that I wanted very substantial portions as people get hungry at weddings! they over delivered ten fold, the food was the best I have ever tasted, it all came out at the same time and was all hot, I was very impressed with the quality of the food as well as the service.

Our Wedding cake was made by Wades Cakes, Arde was a dream to deal with, he brought our vision of the dessert table that I had dreamed of to life and I could not recommend him more :) we went for a classic 4 tier cake filled with different flavours of cake and then a table filled with lots of treats.

Wedding Stationery

Warren from City Print did all of our stationary and he was amazing to deal with and created the most beautiful stationary, he is so innovative and the quality of the stationary and the beauty of it really is amazing.

The Reception and Entertainment

We took online dance lessons, we had our dance choreographed by Wedding Dance (an online company) and it was so much fun turning our practice sessions into dates and just having fun with it and everyone loved how it turned out.

Carla Louw sang the song as I walked down the isle, Can't help falling in love, which was so beautiful and then she sand during the pre drinks.

Once we had our first dance, Me and Mr Green opened the dance floor, they were our live band and I could not recommend them more! they really made the biggest difference and there was not one moment from then until our wedding ended when the dance floor was not completely packed!
