Magical Moments

The entire wedding day was absolutely amazing! From the morning we woke up on Pat Busch Mountain Reserve till the next morning when all our guests were fast asleep and we finished what was left of the punch with our awesome DJ.

What stood out for us, was our first dance, that we didn't plan, our photoshoot with Riaan van Staden and his team and our very relaxed ceremony.

We planned our wedding from start to finish in two and a half weeks. From getting a venue, organising flowers, getting an officient, photographer, DJ, caterer and even the wedding rings. It was totally worth not spending too much time on the planning and we didn't have enough time to overthink. Our service providers were awesome and we can definitely say that they played a huge part in the perfect day that we had.

The Honeymoon

We have not yet had a honeymoon, as Juandré had to fly back abroad for work in the following week (I will be joining him soon!)

My Special Day

To start off, we didn't wear shoes... I'm sure this gives a good idea of who we are.

I wanted a beautiful dress, but still feel relaxed and down to earth (hence the barefeet) and I got my perfect dress from Bride and Co in Cape Town. I did my own makeup the same way I do my makeup on any other day. My hair is naturally curly and I wanted to look no different than any other day, as that is how I feel most comfortable, so I left it as is and just put some hair oil in. My only accessories was a necklace that I got from Miladys that I really like.

The Venue

We couldn't have chosen a better venue! We got married at Pat Busch Mountain Reserve near Robertson and our guests stayed on the reserve with us.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I didn't have any beauty regimes leading up to our wedding. I've got a natural style without any fuss, so the morning of the wedding, I took a shower, shaved, brushed my teeth, washed my face and put on some self tanner, because I didn't see sun for the entire holiday.

Wedding Elements

The flowers were done by myself, as I am a wedding planner and have experience in doing flowers for weddings. I got some eucalyptus for the ceremony area and the tables along with some greenery that my mom helped me harvest in the surrounding area. I also got some baby's breath that I put in the bouquets. We had wine barrels as cocktail tables, pallet lounge pockets and a bar also made out of pallets that we hired from the venue. The lighting consisted of the naked bulbs in the reception area, fairylights outside and firepits for ambience. All our hiring items are from the wedding venue itself. The venue cost included setup of everything on the day.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom and groomsmen wore chino pants, white button up shirts, and leather shoes. The groom wore leather sandals that came off at the ceremony and a navy blue suit jacket. All of them owned chinos and white shirts and we got the suspenders from De Jagers. Juandré's jacket is from Woolworths.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

The look for the bridesmaids were very casual, with or without shoes. The colour code was navy and casual summer feel for the girls, so they all had a different dress on, but it looked so amazing and down to earth.

Marriage Officer

Our best friend happens to be a pastor and we were so lucky to have her there as our marriage officer. Her name is Marileen Steyn and wow, she really made our ceremony so special and unique.

My Captured Moments

We had THE BEST photographer/videographer! Riaan van Staden and his team captured our day better than anyone else could have done. From our first skype meeting, we knew we had to go with him. We thought it would be very awkward to do a photoshoot, but they made it so much fun and they were so in the moment with us. We couldn't believe how beautifully they managed to capture all the special moments that we had.

The Wedding Planner

We didn't have a wedding planner, but Johan (Pat Busch manager) and his staff were on top of setting up and making sure everything is where it should be, when it should be.

Wedding Transport

We didn't have special transport, as all the guests stayed on the venue.

Food & Cake

We had a delicious spit braai done by Wynand from Robertson (supplier that the venue recommended) and the salads and side dishes were made by our mothers. We had an amazing harvest table also done by our mothers. I am lucky to have parents that are amazing cooks and bakers, so my dad made 3 cheesecakes and my mom, 2 carrot cakes that are still being talked about.

Wedding Stationery

My mom designed and printed our stationary.

The Reception and Entertainment

Stefan from Audio Elite did our sound and lighting for the reception until early morning hours. We didn't brief him on specific music that we wanted and asked him to take charge. He is such a cool DJ and can read a crowd and go along with it. We didnt take dance lessons or planned our first dance. On the perfect moment, we put on a great song and danced to it.
