Magical Moments

A forrest wedding turned into a misty Chapel wedding and Brendon and I couldn't be more buzzed with the outcome. Getting ready with my girls- seeing them so beautiful and excited for the day made my heart sing. Having my brother walk me down the aisle, was an emotional experience itself- let alone seeing Brendon waiting for me with tears in his eyes. This naturally brought more streams of tears than what I thought I'd have. It was a ceremony to remember. Brendon and I danced, kissed and had eyes for each other more than ever. I fell more in love with him knowing the rest of my life was going to be spent with him by my side- through all the love, laughter, adventures, fights, arguments and changes we will both experience. Our first dance was the most beautiful and memorable experience. We danced as if it were just the two of us in the room, laughed and twirled while surprisingly hitting every move. Being able to have family come out from across South Africa and the world during Covid to celebrate us was a blessing. The day was filled with an abundance of love, laughter and togetherness; an atmosphere I will not be able to forget. From getting ready for our big day to running through a tunnel of sparkles held by the guests, memories were made forever that will always be cherished.

The Honeymoon

Yes we most certainly did. We both love the outdoors and nature. We had decided to do something different and go Glamping. We both took a week off of work and went to Africamps in the Midlands. There too it rained, however it made the most romantic weather for a hot tub powered by fire.

My Special Day

I am mad about a rustic more natural scene. The wedding was held on a farm making the photos to die for. My hair was a down style with plaits to suite the more natural aura. I had a hair piece that was put across my style to finish it all off. Tyron from Hair on edge mount Edgecombe and my sister in-law, Carlee did an exquisite job doing the hair. My make up was done by my cousin Anushca along side her were family friends- Leigh and Nicole to do my Bridesmaid's make-up. I love a darker eyeshadow that makes my eyes pop, with a more neutral lip stain. Slimming and tight, yet a free to move and dance dress was my go to. Linda Greef took my dream dress idea and made it perfect to a T. An open back, thin straps, V-neck, slight train with a flair at the bottom did just that and more for me. White for the bride with a bit of a comfy heel is always classy. The minute I spotted my shoes I knew they were perfect for me- my heels had a slight glitter to them adding gracefully to my dress. Due to my dress being an open back I had cubs sewn into my dress leaving me with a seamless nude panty to ensure it was not seen through my dress. The morning of the wedding Brendon had left me with a Gift. He gifted me with a beautiful pear of tear drop earrings that ironically suited my dress, hair and make-up- this was to be worn. My something old was my late grans pear bracelet, I had also worn my Mother- in- Laws watch making it my something borrowed.

The Venue

We got married on a beautiful farm in the midlands; Bellwood Wedding Venue. Our guests stayed the night on the farm, there were cottages that slept most of our guests. We had given our guests the option to stay at the venue, if they wished.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I am lucky enough to have brother whom is an Exercise Specialist; Clinton Steenkamp and a sister- in- law whom is a nutritionist. The two of them helped both Brendon and I in the health and fitness department. I regularly go and get my eyelashes filled from French Vanilla Health & Skincare. She ensures my eyes and eyebrows were done perfectly for the big day. My brides maids took me for a wax, fullbody massage and facial at TeremokLodge.

Wedding Elements

Our decor was a rustic wood that linked well with our colour; maroon. greenery was brought in to suit the farm style. We had black Plates and rose Gold cutlery, which introduced a masculine aspect to the tables. Purples and Pinks tied the whole venue together. We introduced these colours on the tables, and chill areas as fellas the butterflies that were placed all over. The fairy lights assed a delicate aspect to our venue which was draped on the beams of the roof. Above our table we had a 'happily ever after' neon sign rented from the Glow co. which we feel added to the sense of love to our table

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The Grooms and Groomsmen's attire was from Markham, while the Grooms Sport jacket and bow-tie was from a local suit shop Csquared. the Groomsmen wore black Smart Chinos with a slimfit Maroon long sleeve button up top and a thin black tie. Black shoes tied up their look. The Groom wore black Smart Chinos with a white slimfit button up long sleeve shirt, black bow- tie and black suede pointed lace up shoes. To tie his look together he had a maroon sports jacket with a tinge of black to it and a black collar.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

The bridesmaids had the option of wearing a dress that suited them and a shade of maroon. I wanted my Bridesmaids to have different dresses. Some got theirs made while the others bought theirs. The looms were inspired by pinterest. The only restrictions I had given them was to have a long dress that was able to move around at the Botton without a slit.

My Captured Moments

AimyLouisePhotography captured our special day so beautifully and professionally. Brendon and myself are shy people when it comes to shoots- Aimy managed to make us feel extremely comfortable. We used her for both our engagement shoot and our Wedding.

The Wedding Planner

We definitely did have a wedding planner. I would recommend this- it makes the day less stressful for everyone. our wedding planner was Darryl Monks.

Food & Cake

Our Food was prepared by CHC caterers. They had done a fantastic job with preparing the food. our Cake and wedding cookies were made by my cousin Anushca Cronje. She had done such a professional job that Bellwood had asked to ass her to their list of vendors.
