Magical Moments

Our journey started on the 20th of November 2021 where we said I Do. It was a magical moment long waited for. The start of the day was most beautiful rarely found on the West Coast, St Helena Bay, Sea Trader. Breath taking blue skies windless just as if heaven sent to us.

On the 19th of November 2021 the day before our wedding my fiancé and I had a wonderful drive from Somerset West all the way to the West Coast, St Helena Bay and was both tremendously excited as our dream was going to come true and was awaiting us around the corner. We had to postpone our wedding day three times because of covid, but eventually we got our day that God had planned for us. The night before our wedding was so peaceful as it was just myself and my fiancé taking everything in and just enjoying each other knowing that soon we will be as one.

The next day was our wedding day the 20th of November 2021, before the day started we took each others hands and prayed to God to be with us on our special day and to let it be the most beautiful day just liked He had planned for us. We both were so peaceful and everything was in order our venue, decor etc. Everything was magical. We both said goodbye to each other and went our separate ways to fulfil everything we had planned for, knowing the next time we see each other we will be united as husband and wife. Getting ready with my flower girls, make-up artist and photographer in a beautiful front beach house looking over the ocean was so extraordinary it was like a fairy tale to me being the princess and feeling blessed to embrace this wonderful moment.

As my dad and I walked down the isle, I saw my future husband, I had to swallow my tears as he was so handsome and I couldn't believe that our long awaited wedding day was actually taking place. I stood next to my future husband looking over the beautiful blue ocean, everything we both ever dreamed of came true and we were side by side holding each others hands opening this new chapter in our lives. Facing each other to exchange wedding rings, my fiancé husband to be politely put my ring on the wrong finger having to remove it very quickly laughing at his horrifying mistake. We said I do, then bowing down facing each other while we quietly said our vows to one another this was special and unforgettable, we both laughed while assisting each other to get back up. After the ceremony we took off with the photographer to make memories of a life time, which we would share with our children one day.

Taking photos with the one I love was fun and so free we had such an amazing time at the beach and the light house. It was a moment for us to be together, which we knew would pass in a blink of an eye. Besides the overwhelming feeling of the day it was just wonderful just the two of us being able to take a deep breath and enjoy this special moment. Leaving footprints in the sand. Returning to the wedding venue seeing our family and friends chitter chatting to one another, enjoying drinks and canapes made us realize that all in all everything came together as a puzzle and everyone celebrating our happiness. The rest of the evening, cutting our wedding cake, our first dance, the speeches, my husband searching for my garter under my beautiful dress, throwing my bouquet as well as the food was an ambiance not to forget as this moment being one day is a memory of a lifetime.

The Honeymoon

My husband secretly planned our honeymoon and I was like a bug all over him trying to fish out what he had planned for us. He is the most romantic man and planned it all so very well. The next day we left the venue very early traveling back to Somerset West to get a covid test as our flight was the day after. This made me realize something special was on the go. After the covid test we came home and my husband gave me an envelope to open, my heart was pounding from excitement. He planned a whole trip for us to Zanzibar with a all in all inclusive package. I was jumping on top of him kissing him all over, thanking him for what he had planned for us. I was so excited to travel again with my husband and enjoy our honeymoon. Zanzibar was spectacular, the sea, the air, the people, the culture, the food, the resort was all totally worth it, especially with my handsome husband. We snorkeled, we swam with dolphins, had our own private tour, danced on the beach enjoying the island vibe and music and their exotic cocktails made from the fruits of the island. We will definitely aspire to return to the island.

The Venue

West Coast, St Helena Bay, Sea Trader. It was our first choice from the start and fell in love with the sea view and the venue. Friendly, helpful and lovely people.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

Nuudo Luxury Express Spa Somerset West. I was pampered for a whole day from head to toe. I absolutely love this place.

Wedding Elements

Myself and my husband planned our whole wedding on our own. I did the creative part, starting off by making a book so that I can see what exactly we needed for the planning of our special day. We then found a very reliable company very near to our venue, Be-Dazzled. I gave them our ideas and they made it happen for us. Kaapse Knope did our crochet décor as well as our beautiful thank you gifts.
