Magical Moments

"Take me back to when the skies opened, nature displayed its most beautiful colours, the wind vanished, the sun raised, hearts fluttered and birds celebrated. When life came to a standstill, even just for a few moments."
When we got engaged we envisioned a sunrise wedding, a sky full of colours, people filled with joy and laughter. Excellent food and great company. We got more than that. At 04h30am the skies opened for the first time in days, the wind came to a standstill and the most beautiful picture unfolded. A 3am rise for our guests was well worth it to witness the display and absolute magical setting nature had in mind for us.
Our wedding started at 04h15 and ended that night at 20h00 - filled with water, sun, fun, relaxing on flamingos and cocktails. The highlight is more than just a moment - it was the entire day, a celebration a wedding that no one has ever witnessed and a weekend everyone will remember forever.

The Honeymoon

We spent 2 nights at Umzolozolo.

My Special Day

My dress was designed by Immagika Creative designs. I wanted it to blend in with the ocean, be light and free - forever flowing and unique. Easy to wear and quick drying, as we knew we would go swimming :)
My make up and hair was done by Yolande Ferreira - intentional wind swept hair and flawless makeup ( that would also last throughout the day ).
I only wore earrings that my husband gave me on our 5 year ( dating ) anniversary.
As for lingerie - well i had a tight dress and it was a beach wedding #EnoughSaid

The Venue

We got married at The Canelands Beach Club and Spa. All our guests spent the entire weekend with us.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

My beauty regime was to remain as natural and stress free as possible. I had multiple Spa treatments at Body Sense Day Spa in Johannesburg, I tried to cut out sugar, alcohol and carbs, however every bride needs a spoil, so I opted to rather follow what my body needed than trying to be "too perfect".
I joined One Fitness twice a week to get some good exercise twice a week and my husband and I cycle, hike and do adventures often.
I am a very natural "girl" in my every day life, so i dis not have any further treatments / regime's.

Wedding Elements

As the pictures show - our décor was the ocean, a beautiful sunrise and our people. My sister in law decorated the table elegantly, yet simplistic. Using all our shells and ocean items we collected over the years (with a few new items added to the collection ). We had the perfect location, there was no items that could match the spectacular view and beauty of the Ocean.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom and groomsmen wore quick dry shorts from quicksilver and cotton shirts. No shoes, or accessories.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

The bridesmaids were dressed by Immagika Creative Designs. And meant to blend in with the ocean - the imagination would lead you to think they look like mermaids - beautiful, spectacular, yet matching perfectly with the beauty of the ocean. The bridesmaids were also barefoot :)

Marriage Officer

We did the legal paperwork with Hendan Wienand. Our wedding ceremony was done by Kathleen De La Hunt.

My Captured Moments

Ariste Photography did our photos on our wedding day. They are family ( my cousins ) . We had no photobooths, or props - again we opted to be as natural as possible using the magnificent backdrop that we had.

The Wedding Planner

The wedding was planned by only us and our wedding party :) off course with the help from the venue ( which was spectacular )
