The Honeymoon

Yes, we went to Orlando, Florida, USA to visit the Universal Studios and Walt Disney World Parks, we are an adventurous couple and wanted to have pure fun on our honeymoon instead of the usual 'relax at the beach/pool'.

My Special Day

For my make up I went with a natural look with just a touch of glam. My hair had a half french braid with simple bottom bun for the up-do portion (ceremony) and then I took out the bun part and let the curls hang loose with the french braid still in place. 'Oulik Vroulik' did my hair and make up, she is based in Durbanville.
My wedding dress was A-line with a flowing skirt and floral lace detail on the bodice with a plunging neckline and low back. My veil had the same lace detail along the edge. I found matching silver and crystal sandals that had the same leaf and floral pattern as the lace. My dress was desined and made by 'Robyn Roberts' based in Claremont.
My earrings were dangling heart shaped crystals from 'Swarovski' and my necklace had three crystal 'stones' in a row that match my engagement ring that my fiancé had designed to signal our past, present and future as well as the holy trinity. The necklace was also from 'Swarovski'.

The Venue

Our venue was Bakenhof Winelands Venue just outside Wellington. Some of our guests stayed the night, but most lived close enough to still drive home.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I went for some facials and waxing leading up to the big day at 'Skin Renewal' in Stellenbosch.
I had my nails done by 'Something Beautiful'.
I had natural looking highlights and a hair treatment done at 'Partners Hair Design' in Somerset Mall.

Wedding Elements

Brenda from 'La Joy' did all of our decor and flowers (from her suppliers). Our theme was lilac and sage with a few other pastels here and there. We had lilac candles and silver lanterns all around the venue to set the romantic mood we were going for. We had rectangular tables with all the flowers and other decor items down the middle of the table with lanterns at each end around the side of the room. The venue has all glass walls so we watched a beautiful sunset and all the evening lights looked like little fairy lights in the background surrounding us.
We had our dance floor in the middle of the room with naked bulbs hanging from the ceiling throughout.
We also rented marquee letters with our initials that stood at the entrance of the reception area.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom wore a full silver/light grey suit and the groomsman wore the matching suit pants with no blazers, only white shirts and all of them wore lilac ties that matched the bridesmaids dresses.
They rented their suits from 'Suit Hire' in Somerset West.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My two co-maid of honors wore soft, flowy lilac full length dresses maid by 'Taryn Ella Design' in Bergvliet, she also made the ties for the men and a little flowers girl dress to match the co-maid of honor dresses for my niece.

My Captured Moments

Photographers were Lucille Scheepers Photography
Videographers were Grootdors produksie

The Wedding Planner

I organise and run a lot of events for my job so together with our decor person (Brenda) and the venue's 'on the day manager' everything ran perfectly without a designated co-ordinator/planner.

Wedding Stationery

My husband is a graphic designer, web designer and photographer so we did all of our own stationary and wedding website etc. We had a lot of fun doing all of the designs ourselves.

The Reception and Entertainment

We took dance lessons to perfect our first dance together, Charmaine from 'John Murray Dance School' in Somerset West was our teacher.
Our DJ was Dirk from 'Baha Entertainment', he also did the lighting and mics etc for the ceremony and reception.
