We stayed 4 nights at the beautiful 5-star hotel The Cellars Hohenort Hotel where we were wined and dined and treated like King and Queen
My beautiful dress was hand-stitched and custom designed by Fazar Couture in Johannesburg. As a makeup artist I always dreamed of doing my own makeup on my wedding day so I went for a glamorous bronze smokey eye with winged eyeliner and a nude lip. My shoes, jewellery and accessories were kept simple and classy.
We got married in breathtaking Constantia at The Cellars Hohenort Hotel. Our intimate ceremony was held in the Great Hall. While we took our photographs our guests enjoyed champagne and canapés whereafter our guests enjoyed a beautiful three course meal at the Conservatory Restaurant.
I really tried to focus on a holistic approach on keeping healthy before the wedding ensuring that I did not go too hungry that I got sick. I wanted to make sure I was present and healthy for every moment of the process to I made sure to keep my body strong and nourished. I also ensured that I drank a lot of water to keep my skin hydrated and glowing throughout. As for beauty, my hair colour and extensions were done by Spoilt Hair Salon in Cape Town CBD, Teeth Whitening was done by Smile Dental in Somerset West. I kept my nails simple and elegant with french tips and treated myself to some manicures, pedicures, facials and waxing.
My decor was very simple and elegant- we kept with a white wedding theme with accents of greenery as Cape Town was so beautifully green from the rainy winter season. My flowers and confetti were white roses wrapped in white ribbon, and my cake was also adorned with beautiful white flowers. Our white Tiffany Chairs and White Carpet perfectly complemented the beautiful white staircase I walked down to meet my husband.
My groom wore a perfectly tailored black suit by Tiger of Sweden- with a crisp white shirt and a black tie. He kept his accessories minimal with his Rado watch, his gold ring and his beautiful new Browns gold wedding band.
Matt, our wedding officer, was the perfect person for the job. He captured our deep love perfectly in our ceremony and delivered an encouraging message to our wedding guests about the beauty and importance of love and appreciation in marriage. He created a relaxed, calm environment and allowed Charl & I to whisper "I love you" and "You look beautiful" throughout the ceremony.
Our wonderful photographer Micke (Mick Creative) captured our perfect day. She allowed us to be natural and just captured all of our raw, beautiful moments which showed exactly how deeply we feel for one another. We loved the fact that none of our photos were staged or forced, but rather were a reflection of the realness of our love and the joy that we shared in coming together as one.
