How did your love story begin?

Our story is a bit of an unconventional one. It all started as a crush in school. Nothing really ever came from it. We lived our lives and lost touch as I went to Pretoria for my studies. After a few years, I moved back to Gauteng where I had started my very first job in Aviation. We ran into each other a few times, both of us politely greeting one another and continuing with what we were busy with.

In 2014 my entire world collapsed, if I can put it lightly. In Feb 2014, I left my boyfriend at the time, and I was experiencing very high levels of stress from work. I then fell very ill in May that same year. I could not walk. struggled to speak and I had lost feeling in most of my body. I was hospitalized on and off for about 3 Months. They could not pin point exactly what was wrong with me.

In hospital, guess who started visiting me, to my surprise? My now to be fiancé. He was there everyday, holding my hand, telling me that everything was going to be ok. He asked me to be his girlfriend there in Section 6 room 5A in the hospital. I was over the moon. I actually could not believe how romantic he was being, even though I looked like I was straight out of some zombie movie. I said yes, of course!

Soon after I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I was 23 years old at this stage. I was told I could never have children and that my life would change forever. Non the less, I fell pregnant that same year. Shocked and confused to say the least. I was offered another job at a different company and I started there in Nov 2014. Yes, all of this happened in one year.

We moved in together a month or 2 later. Scared, confused, MS'sy and pregnant in a new home. Fantastic!!

We both agreed that that we should not rush into marriage as everything happened exceptionally fast. Well, we are still together 4 years later, in love as ever and determined to make this relationship work for our beautiful son as well.

Anyway, so that's our story.
