My most favourite moment of the whole day was our first look. We wanted our first look of each other to be just us and the photographer, we wanted it to be private and intimate and that's exactly what it was. I hid behind a rock while Sharyn went to grab Andy and I waited, the butterflies in my stomach going absolutely crazy! I see him walking, Sharyn puts him in place and he closes his eyes. I walk up to him, he was facing away from me, I tap his shoulder and he turns around, in what seemed to be slow motion. That look. Oh that look! His eyes teared up and all that came out of his mouth were the words, "Oooh damn!" I am so glad we got that moment!
When we were doing our couple photos Sharyn had this idea, and we were keen for it all! She had this beautiful red carpet, she put it down on the shoreline, and we lay on it waiting for a wave to come over us. It was nerve wrecking! But funny! The wave hit us, we were absolutely soaked! But the photo was magnificent!
Our first dance was also one of my biggest highlights. We danced on the beach and everyone held up sparklers. They danced and sang with us, they made a giant circle around us and eventually the gave us a huge group hug. It was just too flippen dream worthy!
We stayed in Plettenberg bay for a week. We hiked, saw the Knysna Elephant park, had the best beach days and ate the most divine food!
I am all about enhancing your natural beauty. I don't like lots of make up too much of anything, I'm a very laid back person.
I was inspired a lot by Lagartha from vikings. My husband has viking ancestry and I've always loved that! So I wanted to be his viking for a day. My hair was braided on the side with some beach curls.
My dress was a Lillian West dress from Bridal Manor, a Bohemian style dress, fitting but I was still able to breath. I added a slit in the leg so it was more suitable for the beach wedding. Bridal Manor assisted me with all my alterations and fittings, they were absolutely amazing.
My make up was done by myself, I wanted a natural look but still enhancing my features. Some warm earthy tones just to lift the colour a bit.
Since we were one the beach, I was barefoot 95% of the time. The heels I wore were from Call it Spring. They were a peachy colour with rose gold diamantes.
My jewllery was also very minimal, all from Lovisa. I got myself and all my girls anklets to wear.

We got married on Lookout beach in Plettenberg Bay. Our restaurant was The Grand Africa Lookout Beach, which is a beautiful restaurant right on the beach.
Our guests stayed in various AirBnB's.

I love the beach and that's all I wanted on my wedding day, so our colours were white, blue and gold.
Our ceremony decor was a white arch on the beach, with palm leaves on either side of the arch. We had white chairs around the arch.
Our table decor was blue organza down the middle of the table with fairy lights and baby's breath. Our guests had their names written on a seashell as their place card. Our venue had a roof full of palm leaves and added to the feel of it.
A lady named Valdi, at Le Parti, helped make it all come together. Planning a wedding from a distance was hard! But she made every worry of mine disappear.
The groom got his suit and shirt from Edgars. His shoes were from Aldo.
Chris du Preez. By far one of the best decisions we made on the day, he was brilliant! Kept it short and sweet and most importantly, FUNNY!
Sharyn Hodges. Oh my goodness this lady is amazing. Her eye for the moments between moments is just breath taking. She fitted in so perfectly, made us feel like models and just laughed with us way too much! She is always up for adventures and the more unique the photo the happier she is. She lives for nature and that was also a big reason why we chose her, she shows it off. She also uses a drone for some photos which was another reason we chose her.
So our venue was a big wooden deck with huge glass windows on the beach. My brother has the best taste in music and a huge JBL speaker, so he was our DJ. That wooden deck became the best dance floor, we danced until after midnight and had the best laughs!
Our food consisted of salads and chips with garlic aioli for starters while we were taking out pictures so the guests wouldn't be hungry, and our mains were calamari and pizza platters. Our cake consisted of cupcakes: vanilla, chocolate, coffee and red velvet.
