Magical Moments

The most memorable moments was, walking down the easel looking up at my husband who started crying when he saw me for the first time that day in my wedding dress.

Our first dance was one of the highlights as we could not afford to go for dancing lessons. We took it upon ourselves watched a lot of YouTube videos to get our first dance perfect. We practiced every weekend 2 hours for 3 months but in the end all the hard work paid off as we had so much fun with our first dance. Our guest believed we went for professional dance lessons.

Our decorations was all handmade personally by us, we were very proud to see how it all come ogether that day.

The venue was stunning and their food was amazing, at your wedding the guest remember only a few things...
1. Was the bride late? (Yes they all reminded me that I was 40min late)
2. The canapés and food
3. The party

All and all me and my husband danced the night away and enjoyed every moment.

The Honeymoon

We went on a 2 week honeymoon with one twist, my husband did not tell me where we were going until we got to the location.

The first night we spent at African flair lodge in Pietretief, the next morning we continued our travel to Hazyview were we stayed at hazyview cabanas for a few days.

During our stay at Hazyview cabanas we went to the Kruger National Park and toured through more than half of the Kruger National Park. On our first day that we spent in the Kruger national park we saw a big herd of elephants storm into a dam, playing and swimming together, we could not believe our eyes and immediately took videos, we were the only people there at that moment to witness them playing in the water, we felt very blessed at that moment. At every camp we visited we bought a souvenir as a reminder of what we saw on our way to the camp. We managed to travel all the way to Letaba rest camp. We also visited Elephant whispers were we interacted with the elephants and enjoyed a sunset ride after the interactions.

We then travelled to Pilgrim's rest were we stayed at Mount Sheba. During our stay we visited mama's shack. After venturing through the little town we came across kuzzlo's emporium were we took some honeymoon photos. The next few days that followed we spent visiting God's window, Bourke’s luck potholes and surrounding waterfalls.
Our next stay was at Falcon Glen Hot springs resort in Shoemanskloof. On the day travelling to Schoemanskloof we took a little detour to go to Hippo Jessica. We had the amazing opportunity to touch and even kiss a Hippo (the Hippo Jessica), my all-time favourite experience of the honeymoon. After interacting with hippo Jessica we went to Eco caves and did a tour 1hour through the cave.

During our stay at Falcon Glen Hot springs, we also spent one day at the Sudwala caves. The hot springs was a wonderful treat for both of us.

On our way home we spent our last honeymoon night at Gooderson Bush Lodge in Hluhluwe. On our way back we stopped at Lake St. Lucia and had a picnic to end the honeymoon.

Three days after arriving back at home lockdown started.

My Special Day

My wedding dress was a sweat heart neckline mermaid dress with flower lace and bead detailing from the top of the dress to the legs that elegantly stopped before the netting, making it seem like it was flowing down the dress. My dress was floor length without a sweep as this fitted my personality. My Veil matched my wedding dresses flower pattern, the flower pattern was on the edge of the veil.
My shoe were white wedges. The heel had a wood type look to match our rustic theme of the wedding.
Something new, something old, something blue something borrowed…
My something new was my pendant for my necklace it is a mystic topaz gemstone, to match my one of a kind pendant my husband bought me a matching set of tear drop shaped mystic topaz earrings as a surprise that I could were on the wedding day.
My something old was the necklace that my parents bought for my 17th birthday.
My something blue was a little blue gem flower that was hidden in my hair, this idea came from the movie bride wars.
My something borrowed was my mother bracelet.
My garters was specially made for me by Stephen van Belkum the designer dress maker from Stephward Estate, one garter was a flower lace garter and the other a green bow tie.
My hair and make-up was done by Leandri Hattingh hair and make-up artist, my hair was an up style messy bun with Lovisa hair pieces. My make-up looked amazing I am at loss of words to describe how I looked.
My underwear was white lace Brazilian cut with flower lace detailing to match my dress.

Wedding Elements

All the decorations except flower arrangements were made by me and my husband.
At the ceremony we had a big welcome board surrounded by bottles with ferns in. there were pallet wood signage and a heart shape wooden box that had all the confetti holders in. down the easel we had white wooden hearts and flower arrangements. We had a beautiful cord ceremony board with 3 colour cords.
At the pre-drinks area there was heart holders on the tables with ice breaker questions on for the guest. There was a selfie area with a wooden frame hanging from the roof and a lot of fun props to use.
Our table seating chart was a wooden frame with chicken wire and Led fairy lights. The outside area and inside area had fairy lights draping from the top.
The centre pieces of the table was a tree stump with greenery on top, in the middle of the greenery was personalized laser cut wood lantern with a candle in. surrounding the centre piece was stick candle holders with a purple and green ribbon around to keep it together. We made a copper stand for our menu card. The tables were wood tables without a table cloth. At each guest seat they had a thank you gift (wood coaster handmade) with a paper explaining marriage with a fern leaf to finish it off.
The Sweetheart table had a long flower arrangement draping to the front of the table with a tree stump with a flower arrangement on top with a lantern an each side of the table. Our champagne glasses were crystal Nataniel glasses with flowers tied to the stem. Behind our seats were Mr and Mrs Signs, on the fire place was our table name with two centre pieces next to it.
Our cake stand was wood boxes staked in a pattern, it sound terrible but it look amazing because we had a Three tree main cake with a star wars cake and mini cakes for the guest.
