Magical Moments

Witnessing my Scottish heritage and my husband's Afrikaans heritage becoming one. Our wedding march was played on the bagpipes and my husband wore a kilt. My husband serenading me with Bruce Springteens "Tougher than the Rest" just before we opened the dance floor to Juan Boucher's "Ek is gebore om jou lief to hê".

The Honeymoon

We have postponed our plans to post covid mayhem. As a quick breakaway and relaxation, we spent two nights on the family farm just outside Kareedouw. No signal, No electricity and completely tranquil ❤ Pure bliss ❤

My Special Day

My hair was done by Leandri van Dyk, Make Up by Githe-Meret Muir, Dress by Kelly Mae Dillon. Shoes were flat sandals that I bought from a random boutique in Fountains Mall and jewellery was bought for me as my gift from my Husband. My garter was handmade by Kary Meyer. My look was very plain and simple - nothing over the top. I wanted to be extremely comfortable and represent myself in my truest form.

The Venue

Slipperfields. We stayed the night in the honeymoon suite and some family stayed at the availible accomodation across the road, Greenfields.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

To be honest - I work in retail therefore I dont have much free time. I lost about 8kgs from Dec2019 to date by minding what I ate and just avoided eating the unnecessary snacks and luxuries. I started sunbed sessions in the beginning of October 2020 which lasted to the end of November 2020 (20 sessions in total) and I did the regular manicure and pedicures at Euphoria Beauty and Skincare Clinic.

Wedding Elements

All decor and flowers were organised by Slipperfields. Wedding colours were white, green, grey and teal where most of the decor was very traditional being green and white in colour. Each table had a canopy of greenery from which light bulbs were suspended, and a table runner made up of greenery and candles. Guests were seated on Tiffany chairs and each table seating had a perspex plate with a personalised #bekkerwedding2020 menu sticker. Each table had a bottle of sparkling wine which also had a personalised sticker. Some fairy lights and white draping from the roof.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

Groom hired a traditional kilt from Cape town and the groomsman hired grey pants from Peri's. Each Groomsman wore a long sleeved white top with grey pants, black shoes, suspenders and belts. All ties were handmade by Jacques Coetzee and were teal in colour to match the bridesmaid dresses. Each groomsman had a personalised co-pilot name badge with my husband having a pilot badge.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

Bridesmaids wore teal dresses made by Hoiden Bridesmaids. Two different styles (I had 6 bridesmaids).

My Captured Moments

Rieg and AD Photography and Deon Nel did our videography. For better suppliers we could not even dream of . We ran out of time on our wedding day due to curfew changes and they offered to come back later in the week to do a second shoot FREE OF CHARGE! We also used Amuse Photobooth.

The Wedding Planner

Slipperfields Wedding Venue organised and did absolutely everything when it came to our wedding detail. Table numbers, seating plan, flowers, personalised menu and wine stickers, food, decor and lights.
