The most memorable memory was seeing my husband for the first time after getting married and having him put the ring on my finger.
I loved seeing our mothers so happy on this day and my whole family together. Both of our fathers passed on so therfore the presence and joy of our mothers was most important to us
I got to wear two beautiful couture dresses designed by myself and hand made by an incredible team. We had ballerinas roaming in the courtyard and giving out fortune cookies and our guest loved the caricatures.
The violinists, The grey duo entertained our guest throughout the evening but the best part was having them play our violin cover of Can't help falling in-love when entering the venue.
Our first dance to the song, Firestone of Kygo was extra special. Our family and friends all had sparkles
Marwaan surprised me on a week long honeymoon to Paternoster in the West Coast. I only found once we arrived in Paternoster.
I was fortunate and blessed to design both of my extraordinary wedding gowns. Both gowns , the morning and afternoon took an incredible amount of hand work.
The dress
The morning dress worn to the nikaah and brunch was scattered with thousands of hand sewn pearls and the afternoon dress was an extravagant fitted dress with an over skirt that was fully beaded. I wanted to a two in one style for the formal reception, a style that is modern and elegant with a lace that is extravagant and fully beaded. I chose a more Champaign with a tinch of gold color color for the afternoon and an angelic white for the nikaah (ceremony).
Hair
My hair was in an elegant bun for both the morning and afternoon attire. Both of my veils was fully beaded as i wanted my veils to be more of a focus and to show off true hand detailing.
Makeup
The ceremony makeup was natural and classic with a nude lip and highlighted cheeks. I wanted a clean makeup look as my ball gown pearl dress was a showstopper on its own.
For the afternoon i decided on a bolder lip with darker eyes and more refined cheeks. Makeup was done by Candice Joshua @candsjoshua_mua
Lingerie
both of my gowns had a build in bra and corset in as every Tashreeqah Sadien dress is made with it to ensure a perfect fit.
jewelry
2 months before my wedding and during a global pandemic i launched my first earring line. I wore the Darling drop earrings with the afternoon dress which complimented it beautiful.
We had two receptions
After the nikaah (ceremony) Marwaan's family hosted a brunch at Barrons Estate at 11am
The evening reception was held by my family at Soetendal Venue in Wellington - at 4pm
Situated on the highly esteemed Soetendal Estates in the winding valleys of Wellington, this venue is a sight to behold.
Lots of prayers was important to me leading up to the wedding. I had my own facials done at home.
We wanted our decor to be classic. White linen table cloths and linen napkins with lots of stem glasses. The flowers we decided to on was blush and cream roses with greenery.
The backdrop was custom made by Mac Style Hiring which consists of naked bulbs hanging in the background of our bridal table with big arrangement of flowers hanging with it. Our bridal table was filled with flowers. We wanted the bridal table to be a centerpiece in the whole venue. The venue had beautiful white chanel chairs which really complimented the whole setting.
The sound and custom lighting in the venue was done by Park Media. They made the lighting during a first dance really magical and the whole venue changed.
Marwaan got his suit custom made at GD suits in Maitland.
He had two groomsmen only for the morning who wore traditional attire
For the morning i had two bridesmaids both of my nieces. They wore dresses i designed and made. A fitted crepe dress with tulle wings along the sleeves.
The afternoon we had 7 flower girls - beautiful tulle layered dresses
The marriage officer was the Imaam of our community - Imaam Gasan Moos

Our food was made by The food Basket and our wedding cake from a family friend who owns a small patisserie @nadia_patiesserie.
Our stationery was designed by Dilshaad Adamfrom @peony_creative. We had our ceremony invitation and reception invitation, menu cards and sparkle cards designed with her.
Our reception started at 4pm where our guest was welcomed in the beautiful courtyard with canapes and mock tails. We had ballerinas roaming in the courtyard and giving out fortune cookies and performing a choreograph piece for our guest.
The grey duo was in the courtyard playing the violinist to a list of modern songs and the best part was the caricatures who sketched our guest in the courtyard upon arrival and whilst enjoying an hour long entertainment.
Inside the venue the ballerinas entered with Marwaan and myself which was magical and the Greyduo played a violin cover of our entrance song, "Can't help falling in love by Elvis".
The grey duo further played the violin with some dinner songs during starters and our MC sang the most beautiful songs whilst our guest ate their main course.
The Barista was available all evening for guest to enjoy.
