Magical Moments

This was our 2.0 wedding. It was nothing like we had originally envisioned... it was smaller, wetter and planned in only two months. But it was the happiest day of our lives. If 2020 taught us anything it was that it's only love that matters.
We were so ready to become husband and wife that everything felt right, I can't begin to describe what a comforting sensation that was. Seeing my now hubby standing at the end of the isle, tears streaming down his face is a moment in my life I will never forget and one that I feel blessed to have been able to experience.

The Honeymoon

Yes we left on the Sunday after our wedding and it was magical. We are both avid fly-fisherman and along with our last-minute wedding planning came last-minute honeymoon planning, so keeping it local, we heard about the beautiful Gkhui Gkhui river lodge on the banks of the Orange river and decided a road trip through would be a great idea. It was. We had an amazing time relaxing, eating and fishing. We stopped in Clarens on the way up and on the way back as a break and to do something a little different. We also found and ate at the incredible Gostos restaurant, a must-try when in Clarens! My brother and sister-in-law went "old school" and wrote all over our car and decorated it with JUST MARRIED signs and we were hooted at by the friendliest locals the whole way there and back. What a time!

My Special Day

I always wanted a fitted dress, and I knew hubby wanted to see me in one too. I had always envisioned on me a long-sleeve dress though and literally planned a winter wedding so I could wear one (oh, and for the sunsets). However, I ended up going in a different direction. In some ways I wish I had still gone with the long-sleeve (especially becaue our wedding day ended up basically being a winter's day) but I have no regrets. Everything was exactly the way it should be.

My dress was from Bride & Co and I had it altered and added onto by the talented Penny Marshall in PMB
My hair and make up was done by the talented, well organized and extremely cool Kym from Kym Hair & Me
Shoes were from MRP (I went with the clear front strap and nude heel, my train was heavy so my shoes were showing when I walked)
I only wore earrings which were from my beautiful sisters company, Outrageous by Kelly Stegen

The Venue

We ended up getting married at the Nottingham Road Hotel in the beautiful KZN Midlands for our wedding weekend, they were amazing from start to finish. We had our reception there and all our guests stayed over for the weekend, it was so fun. It's a very meaningful place in our lives and meant a lot to us. We got married in a small, quaint church down the road - it is part of the All Saints group of churches and with a little sprucing up it really looked gorgeous in the gloomy weather..

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I didn't change much if I am honest... I started using Brass off on my hair as a suggestion from my amazing hairdresser, Courtney from Luna2 in PMB which made my chocolate brown hair colour look lucious and healthy. I did get my teeth whitened as well... I can't remember the name of the dentist! And that's all... healthy choices, drinking lots of water and boxing classes meant my physique was at it's best which I was happy about.
