The Biggest highlight of our wedding was the moment when we held hands, looking into each others eyes and saying our vows. For that moment it was just us and it was like the whole world faded away, a moment I will treasure for the rest of our lives.
My parents have been married for 41 years and as a gift to them, my entrance into the chapel was on Trumpet Voluntary, the same wedding march my mother walked in with on their wedding day.
Another highlight for the guests was a little surprise when my Dad and I did our " Daddy Daughter Dance" - it was a special song that described how I felt about my hubby as I am the youngest of 3 and last one to get married, daddy's little girl. We then started with a hip hop piece before ending our dance with a bang.
The whole day was so amazing and I am so thankful that I could share this special time with our closest friends and family.
We were so fortunate to receive a honeymoon as a gift from someone really close to us.. We went to Phuket for 6 days and another 5 days in Cape Town.
For my wedding dress I wanted something classic and beautiful. With my first visit to Bride and Co, I got the perfect dress as I knew it was "the one" as soon as I put it on and saw the reactions of my bridal party. My Bride and Co consultant assisted me to put on my burgundy lace heels, also from them and the veil. Words can not do my feelings justice in that moment when I saw everything came together better than I could have ever dreamt about.
My hair was done by Armon from Armon Bridal, who did magic with my hair with loose romantic curls. Make up was done by Chanteleze from Beauty By Chanteleze with a touch of modern colour of eyeshadow, close to burgundy also.
My lashes was done by Christine from Magnolia Clinic as I wanted a more natural look and still be honeymoon ready after the wedding.

The guests that had to drive from a distance had the comfort of accommodation on the venue premises as well as walking distance from the venue.
For a wedding present I received a voucher for beauty facials from a family friend that I did on a weekly basis to make sure my skin was glowing on our wedding day. I did not follow a specific diet plan to get rid of those extra weight before the wedding but had to watch what I eat and cut out some of those little guilty pleasures to make sure I am comfortable on the day. My dress was a lace up - so fitting into the dress was one less thing to stress about.
With my first visit with NDM Events, Samantha and Chantelle, that I wanted a less is more look.. Red Roses and Navy Lace runners on wooden tables with glass under plates. With that they added some candles to give it a romantic feel. Our Venue also gave us complimentary fairy lights that just lit up the wall behind our main table. To show our personality there was a sign infront of our main table, saying " Mr Right and Mrs Always Right" as to the traditional Mr and Mrs.
For the Groom and Groomsmen, we struggled to get the "just right" navy suit for the groom and pants for the groomsmen without breaking the bank at Queens Park. Shoe's was bought at Markham's with a matching belt. The Groomsmen's bow tie's and the waist coat set for the Groom was bought at Hot Couture in Rustenburg.
I dressed the ladies in Burgundy Red dresses in flattering material with of the shoulder lace with 3/4 sleeves. The both had short hair which they wore silky straight. The supplier of these dresses was Annetjie, from Anna.
We did a marriage preparation course through a company called SOS Ministries. We decided to ask the Reverend that worked with us, Dolf, to be our Marriage officer.
A friend and a excellent photographer and his team from JPB Media Productions captured our big day in the most stunning photos and video. They kept us calm, excited and very comfortable when taking photos.
Lets just say, planning a wedding and having a full time job is not easy. I had a friend who sat with me where we did our research with, shared service provider quotes, ticking of the lists.. She was my rock through everything and at the end of the night I gave a little speech and gave her my bouquet as a thank you for all her support.
We did however had a coordinator at the venue, Sonja, that made sure everything was going according to the program.
As the chapel was walking distance from where we got dress and few steps from reception the bridesmaids just walked down to the chapel where my brother came to pick me up to take me to the chapel where Dad was waiting.
The venue was our caterer and it was a plated starter with a buffet dinner. We had our little requests and they did deliver! The food was amazing and we received so many compliments - no one left hungry :)
For our wedding cake, we used Elsa and she made the cake picture perfect.
We wanted to put a modern twist on the wedding invite as a whole so I hired JC Crafford Productions to do our wedding website where all the information that the guests might want to know on as well as how we met and an introduction of the wedding party.
In preparation for our first dance together, after deciding on the perfect song, closer to the wedding we would put on our wedding shoes and just practice every turn and step.. We were ready..
One of the Groomsmen offered to be our DJ for the night and had the guests on their feet and dancing through the night.
He did the lighting and spoiled us with a few songs he sang himself later the evening..
