Magical Moments

Our day was just so perfect. We had a farm wedding and the ceremony was outside in the field. We had a hand-tying ceremony and washed each others feet. My husband could not take his eyes off me and during the ceremony said I looked so beautiful more than once - even asked, during the ceremony, if I will marry him. We had written our own vows , and while he was saying his vows, he burst out in tears. I was on a high for days - every thing felt just so right. We are so blessed.

The Honeymoon

We did not went on a honeymoon. I had only 3 days of leave, so we just did some things in and around Hartbeespoort, where we are currently staying.

My Special Day

I felt like a princess! As from our wedding day, my loving husband calls me his princess! My dress was made from silk and lace in a champagne colour, with cowboy boots. My hair was half up and half down with curls. Make-up was all natural looking.
Jewelry was rosegold and cubic zirconia necklace, earrings and a bracelet.

The Venue

We got married at Zoete Liefde wedding and function venue in Hartbeespoort / Brits in Nort West. Some of our quests stayed in a lodge next to the venue. (Aeroden Lodge)

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I started to gym last year to get my body into shape and to stay healthy. I really tried hard to eat healthy and even started to use Herbal life the beginning of this year.
I went for lazer treatments last year because I had a bad acnee skin as a teenager and feel very self conscious about my skin. I went for facial treatments as well every month or so at Placecol and Sorbe. My hair was in a bad condition - very dry - as from the beginning of this year I went for hair treatments each month, to get my hair in a more healthier condition. In August, I went for a spa treatment with a friend, after my mother passed away and just needed this relaxing spoil at Vusalela day spa.

Wedding Elements

The venue had a real rustig farm look and atmosphere. Outside was tables made of old, used wooden tolls, where various of breads and snacks with various of spreads were served. At the ceremony area, the guests were seated on bales. Old school desks were placed for the register and for the DJ. The pulpit was modified from an old wheelbarrow - very funky. The outside area were decorated with flags and feary lights and old jars hanging from tree tops.

In the barn, where the reception was held, the tables and chairs were made from pallets and the bride and groom's table and chairs, were made of wooden tolls. The barn was decorated with fairy lights and ribbon. The tables were set with old farm styled lamps, roses, proteas, desert roses, pieces of wood blocks, and enamel plates rounded off with a classic champagne class. At each guests seat, were place mats, looked like old newspaper, with the story of how we met and the menu printed on, made from Dicky Birds.

As a thank you gift, we had mini jam jars, filled with apricot jam, supplied and made by Glinster Glans.

Each child had their own personalized sweetie pack, a brown paper bag, filled with sweets, sterri stampi milk and a small box of juice and was placed with a black board with chalk to keep themselves occupied. Enamel plates and small enamel cups were placed at each child's seat.

Roxanne, from Zoete Liefde wedding and function venue, did a lot of effort and everything was just perfect and special.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom and groomsmen had white shirts with Chino pants. The groom had a pair of dark brown Chino pants, and the groomsmen had a pair of a lighter color brown Chinos. Shoes were brown vellies. I ordered ties, made from soft leather from The Groom, to round off their outfits.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaid, my beautiful daughter, wore a dusty rose dress with the same boots I had worn. Google and Pinterest were our greatest inspiration for dresses.

Marriage Officer

Our marriage officer, who is a great friend, was pastor Maria De Jager.

My Captured Moments

One beat photography, had captured every special moment of our big day. They made us all felt very relaxed and special and done an excellent job. We did not wait long at all for our photo's, (approximately 3 weeks) which was sent to us on an USB, in a box filled with the most delicious chocolates.

The Wedding Planner

Roxanne, from Zoete Liefde wedding and function venue, was our wedding coordinator.

Food & Cake

Roxanne, from Zoete Liefde wedding and function venue, and her staff, prepared the food - for starters : biltong soup served in a enamel cup with a soft bun.

Main course - spitbraai, chicken pie, small potatoes, spiced rice, caramelized pumpkin fritters, green bean dish, creamy spinach and feta cheese, pepper sauce and salad served as a sosatie.

Desert - milk tart baked and served in an enamel cup

The kids had cocktail hamburgers.

We decided to have macaroons as a wedding cake. My sister in law made this as a gift. We had green ones with mint white chocolate filling, rose gold, with almond white chocolate filling and pienk with strawberry dark chocolate filling.

Wedding Stationery

Our Save-the-dates I designed myself. Our wedding invitation (e-invites) were done by Glinster Glans. Our newspaper place mats were designed and printed by Dicky Birds.

The Reception and Entertainment

Our reception was ons big party full of fun and laughter. We played a game - where we as bride and groom had to sit back to back. We both had one of our partner's shoe and one of our own. We were asked personal question and had to answer by raising either your own shoe or your partner's shoe.

We had a game with the throwing of the garter - all the men had a balloon tied to their ankles and they had to pop each other's balloon. The last one standing won the garter.

With my bouquet, musical chair was played. A balloon was used and tossed around. The last lady without the balloon got the bouquet.

We had no dance lessons - we practice at home for our first dance. With our first dance, our guests stood in a circle around us while burning sparkles.

We had 2 bottles of MAMPOER that had been auctioned - with every offer made by a guest, the money had to be given, the next person had to offer more than the previous offer and needed to pay the money as well.

Our DJ was AMA PROMOTION
