Magical Moments

Marrying my best friend and having all our close friends and family witness our special day together. Being able to finally join families and unite as a married couple after nine years of being together. I loved the morning of getting ready together with my bridesmaid, enjoying the laughs and moments leading up to the final hour. Seeing Johann for the first time and feeling so proud to become his wife, he looked so handsome. We had such a funny moment where we had a hymn to sing and the pianist was not hired to sing, therefore none knew when to sing and not, so we just enjoyed the piano playing and myself and Johann having a giggle together. We really loved the speeches and enjoyed everyone's kind words and wishes upon Johann and i's journey and really experiencing a room full of people that really love and appreciate us so much. We felt so proud to have all our crew of friends and family dance, sing, cheers and live up the entire evening till the very end. A night that will never be forgotten and forever remembered. #ReitzWedding

The Honeymoon

YES! We did a Mini-Moon first, as we are planning on going to Bali in September this year, for our one year anniversary.

For our Mini-Moon, we visited the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains as a backdrop, with sweeping views out over the glistening Indian Ocean below where Botlierskop Private Game Reserve is nestled. We had the best time, going on safari game drives, doing horseback safaris, enjoying the restaurant options, along with the spacious decks and swimming pools, perfect for the romantic sunsets with your hubby :)

My Special Day

My wedding look was very thought out and I knew exactly what I wanted. I really wanted my look to a strong representation of myself, style and being alternative.

Hair & Makeup :
Since my dress was the statement piece of the day, I wanted to stick to a very slick hairstyle but with a assertiveness and go for a very rose gold bronze affect with my make up (giving me that glow/natural look, but still very bridal). I went with a polished low ponytail, incorporating a big wedding trend ATM (foresee for 2020 swell), bringing back the bulky and boojie aliceband look for weddings.

Wedding Dress:
I was so blessed to have had a dress designed and made perfectly for me by, Cindy Bam. She is such a kind, thoughtful, creative and beautiful person, with so much love and passion for her work - Cindy made me feel like such a princess on our very first consultation and was so excited for the journey leading up to my big day. I wanted my dress to be something that strikes beauty, courage, love, elegance and being bold (a dress that truly represented me) - She bought my dream dress to life and was absolutely everything I could of ever wished for. I will be forever grateful for having Cindy Bam as my wedding dress designer and recommend her elegant and luxury style to any bride to be.

I went for a low back and low front with a tight waist and flared skirt, with such beautiful tule and material that hugged my body in all the right areas, feeling like a complete princess and real bride!

Shoes:
A nude point, with a perspex heel from Zara.

The Venue

Wedding Ceremony and Reception:

Meerendal Wine Estate, we had our ceremony in the chapel at Meerendal and the reception at the Crown Restaurant, all situated on Meerendal Wine Estate outside of Durbanville.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I was a pretty laid back with all the regimes, the one thing I focused on was eating healthy and staying fit :)

My mom did treat myself, my bridesmaids and mom-in-law to a spa day at Lanzerac.

Wedding Elements

Decor:
Elegant, white & green greenery, glass/crystal finishes with raw/wooden tables. I hired beautiful white phoenix chairs that really gave the table it's finished look along with hiring fairy light curtains to create different spaces in the venue - this separating the dance floor and the tables. I loved using different textured decor pieces and one of them being the under plates that were vintage inspired glass styled under plates, not taking too much away from the flowers and table decor.

I bought my own table numbers and painted them white :) - we incorporated a few DIY projects. Another being our, rose gold hoops with flowers & greenery tied at the bottom of the hoop. We bought hula hoops, spray painted them rose gold and used fake flowers and leaves to tie at the bottom as these need to be prepped ahead of time.

Thank you gifts:
I wanted to add a personal touch, therefore we bought small consoles jars, filled them with different types of soil and planted mini cactus plants - which was placed on the table at everyone's names to take home and enjoy :)

Candles:
All I wanted I was lots of candles, candles and more candles - this is a serious mood creator in any venue (especially when the sun goes down) and really pulls all your decor together, really adding mood and romance to the whole evening and ambiance. There was one point where I just wanted candles of all different shapes and sizes on the tables - but I canned my mind.

Flowers:
I loved the combination of three or four different flowers collated together along with beautiful greenery like eucalyptus... looked so beautiful - when guests were leaving I encouraged our guests to please take bunches home and enjoy the flowers at home (avoiding waste)

Lighting - we used a company called Sound Print to put up our beautiful curtain of fairy lights and this really set the tone for me and pulled the whole venue and wedding together - I was obsessed with the fairy curtain and found it very inexpensive, yet it made such a statement

I really wanted to not go over board and keep it simple yet elegant :)

We hired all our chairs, napkins, candles, under plates, candle holders, vases and easel from Function Hire for you (they were incredible and resourceful)

My Captured Moments

Our amazing and stunning friend, Brownyn Tod, she captured the most amazing wedding day moments. We absolutely loved, how she caught all the emotions, attire, venue, decor and celebrations that wet down. She made myself and Johann feel so calm, relaxed, comfortable and excited (all in one go) - she knew exactly what she was doing and just did the most amazing job and could not have asked for a better Photographer for our beautiful day. We absolutely loved having her join us and be part of our big day - her photographs will forever be close to our hearts.

The Wedding Planner

I was the planner, along with my hubby, mom, sister and family & close friends - I had such amazing support from all my family and friends throughout the planning process. Anytime I needed help, my amazing friends and family would drive around with me doing trial and errors for decor ideas etc. and just making the most of it. I loved planning my entire day on my own and with my family and friends by my side - it made my wedding day so much more meaningful.

Food & Cake

The venue, Crown Restaurant prepared our delicious food and. my dear friend, Lisa Clark, made our cutting cake and cupcakes for guests - was absolutely delish!

Wedding Stationery

My precious friend, Gabby Simpson designed all our wedding stationary from menu cards, seating board, name cards and ceremony folders.

We were very blessed to have Aunt Allison, print all our wedding stationary that owns her own print production and project management company. She has done some outstanding work and highly recommend using her services.
