Every moment was a highlight, from getting ready in the morning with my beautiful bridal party to saying my vows to my incredible husband and then eating, drinking and dancing the night away with our closest friends and family.
We only did a short break on the Garden route: Herold's Bay, Knysna and Nature's Valley. Next year we will do our proper honeymoon in Greece :)
I wanted something classic but unique, something timeless and a look that suited me and not what is trendy. My hair (extensions added for volume and length) was curled and in a ponytail with five strings of randomly strung beautiful pearls placed in the ponytail. My eyes were quite dramatic with beautiful warm colours and classic lashes and my lips matt peachy pink. The whole look was finished off with beautiful bronze tones. Alida Aletta did my make up and hair and I could not have wished for anything else, she made me look and feel like the most beautiful bride on this planet. My earrings were unique and absolutely beautiful - Kathleen Barry, they are large floral and pearl earrings, I did not have too many other accessories other than my mom's pearl bracelet (something borrowed).
We got married at the best venue imaginable - The One Heaven and Earth in the Hemel en Aarde Valley. Most of our guests stayed at High Seasons farm (incredible) while my hubby and I stayed at the beautiful and peaceful Treyntjes river cottage.
I didn't do too much out of the ordinary but I did increase my gym hours etc:
- Future fitness (EMS training)
A new treatment that I tried was dermaplaning at Pure Beauty
And then I just had a good teeth cleaning at Hout Bay dental studio
Our venue, decor and flowers were just absolutely idyllic and surreal. We had a lot of greenery with white and blush pink flowers and rose gold accessories. We also had some industrial elements in the form of rose gold grids and hanging exposed light bulbs. The actual building has huge glass panes, a mixture and face brick and wooden walls and beautiful, bare wooden tables.
The ceremony area was in the majestic forest.
FAB events set up everything! Amazing!
The Groom wore a light grey slick suit with a white shirt and waist coat and a grey tie. He bought his suit from Eurosuit and his shirt from Woolworths. His brown shoes and belt as well as his tie were also from Woolworths.
The groomsmen wore a white shirt, charcoal pants and grey ties all from Woolworths.
The maid of honour wore a rose gold sequin dress, while the bridesmaids wore light pink sequin skirts and ivory camis. I put the look together and bought the dress and skirts from ASOS and the camis from Forever New.
Chris de Wet captured our beautiful moments, he has a very moody feel to his photos and we just would not have chosen anyone else. We did not have a videographer. We did not have a photo booth.
Yes, he is amazing! Andre at The One.
Dre Johnson did all of our catering, she is incredible and generous with her portions, we had family style sharing at the tables.
Leigh from Leigh's cakes did our incredible wedding cake! Delicious!
I paid for designs from ETSY and populated them myself. Kadimah Print did our printing
Livewire was our DJ and he also did all of our sound and lighting. So amazing! We also had the incredible Takura Terry playing live music.
We did not take any dance lessons
