If I think back now I realize that the day was such a rush, everyone trying to snap a picture with you, having to take pics with the photographer, speeches, first dance etc. Before you know it, the day is over.... To me the most memorable moment was when my husband and I had our canapés and freshen up session after our ceremony. Having that break away from everyone to just speak and laugh with my husband without interruption was heartwarming, it was just the two of us in the room having a moment to realize that this day has actually arrived and we are officially married.
We went to Knysna for a week, having that tranquility of being away from Cape Town was truly amazing. We had supper at a place called Tapas and oysters situated on Thesen Island, a solo artist was performing and while we were seated my husband "went to the bathroom" when he returned to our table the lady performing announced the newly wed couple and performed her own version of our first dance song. It was completely unexpected, he took me by the hand and we danced to our song and I, like a baby couldn't hold back my tears.
