My fondest memory is walking down the isle... The moment I was dreaming about for so, so long. The whole build up... Standing in front of the chapel door, full of emotion, my dad next to me, waiting to walk down the isle to my husband. It definitely is a feeling that can never be explained or forgotten. What an extraordinary and everlasting memory. I watch the videos over and over, seeing all the emotions just warms up my heart. First dance, on the song composed by my husband and Lyla. That is another fond memory and something I will always treasure. I think something else on everyone's list would be the father-daughter dance. My dad almost missed my wedding due to being ill and in hospital, but I got to share the day with him. I would absolutely have been heartbroken is he had to miss my wedding, so I will forever be grateful that he made it.
My dress, shoes and mom of the bride's dress were all bought at Bride & co. It was definitely my dream dress. It was everything I ever wanted. My dress was white with silver detail and my shoes satin, burgundy in colour. My veil I made myself. It was a cathedral veil, 3m long and I hand-stitched lace all around the edges. My makeup was done by Tammy from Kryolan and I couldn't have been any happier. Hair was done by BlueGel in Pietermaritzburg. Jewellery was my mom's jewellery, pearls, from her wedding with my dad. I had a burgundy, lace garter that one of my friends made.
We got married in the BEAUTIFUL Midlands, St. Ives Lodge and wedding venue. Overlooking the dam with wildlife strolling around, surrounded by the beauty of the midland's nature. Most of our guests stayed at the venue and everyone was extremely happy.

We had the roof billow draped with white fabric, added fairy lights, hanging down the walls as well to end it off. We had a Fancy Viking theme. Fur over the back of the chairs, silver and gold candle holders with different candles. Orange and deep red roses with greenery and berries. White table cloths and grey table runners with glass under-plates. Grey napkins and berries on the plates. Greensleeves was the service provider who also did my BEAUTIFUL bouquet.
The groom was dressed by Bride and Co/Euro suit and the groomsmen were dressed by Zara. The groom wore a light grey suit with a black scarf and the groomsmen wore black pants, white shirts and black scarves.
My bridesmaids whore orange, floral maxi dresses that matched my bouquet perfectly. I bought the dresses from Angels Boutique in Bloemfontein and they looked stunning on the photos, especially with our theme and venue.
Our marriage officer was Skip from Grace Church Umhlanga who delivered a message based on 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, as well as a letter that I wrote to my fiancé at that time.
Black and White Studios, Jane Symes was our photographer for the day who captured all the special memories that we will treasure forever!
We had the coordinator from the venue, St. Ives, that helped us coordinate the day and made sure everything ran smoothly.

The food was also provided by St.Ives, it was a lovely buffet dinner. The also provided drinks and food during canapé hour. Everyone was amazed by how good the food was. The cake was made by a retired lady that lives in Howick and bakes cakes for a hobby. She did a great job in creating what we envisioned.

I designed my own stationery and got it printed at a printshop. I started with the save the dates all the way to the invites and menus.
We had a DJ as well as live entertainment during canapé hour. Ryan Calder was the musician and Matthew from Southern Lights was the DJ. My Husband, together with Lyla Illing, wrote me a song for our first dance - Tyrone's wedding song. You can find it on Youtube and iTunes. The song is based on our love for each other and is so spot on.
