Magical Moments

My amazing husband and I wrote our own vows and that really made it special for me. Everything he said just brought me to tears of joy and love.

He then surprised me with singing the song he sang for me when he proposed and went on singing a new one he wrote just for me. It was my own version of Your Song .. from Elton John... and it truly did become my song!

Our venue was also a very special one we chose as for my sister also got married there. Its a castle fit for a fairy tale wedding for me and my prince!

Everything about this 20th of July 2019 was beautiful. Our flowers were another amazing flair to our special day because my mother, aunt, sister and now mother-in-law threw it all together and made this magical wedding come to life!

What a day it was! One I thought would never happen... turned out to be one I never wanted to end. Love wins all wars.

The Honeymoon

We haven't gone on honeymoon yet but we are busy planning a fun trip to Phuket for Sept/Oct.

My Special Day

I went for a princess feel, yet modern.

My dress was a fairy tale long vail princes Diana inpired.

My make up was a golden brown smokey eye done by the amazing Liz v.d Merve who is well known in the fashion industry in SA

My hair was made to look like a VS model... slightly wavey but modern done by world known celebrity hair stylist Saadique.

Jewellery, i kept simple with a silver diamond bracelette and my neckless was my something blue and also my push present for my sons birth 5months ago.

My lingerie was a purple and black lace bikini shape panty that my husband chose for our wedding night.

The Venue

Riverside Castle in Pretoria out on Lynwood Road.a Castle fit for a prince and a princess! So... beautiful!

We sent a Google Map link to our guest indicating all the nearby accomodation that were available.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I just continued with my normal routine for taking care of my hair and skin. I also had my baby boy, Calisto, 5 months prior to our wedding day... so had to work hard to be what I once was before falling pregnant. I also found that being lucky enough to breast feed helped alot to pull my stomach back to get it looking flat again.

Wedding Elements

We got ideas from Pintrest and chose decor consisting of lots of candles and flowers to really give it the royal princess feel.

The castle really created an amazing ambiance and all the guests felt spoiled on our royal wedding day!

We even had a live musician sing us a few songs while he played on his guitar.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

My husband bought his suit jacket from Black Tie in Pretoria. It was a suede jacket and really brought with it a royal vibe.

All the groomsmen also got their undercoats and ties from Black Tie as well.

But our baby boy and my little nephew had matching outfits that looked like little penguin suits, that we bought at Naartjie.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

All the bridesmaid also had to have royal dresses fit for a princess wedding... so me and my family decided to create these beautful dresses ourselves! It was quite the stressful endevior.. but in the end we all looked amazing!

Marriage Officer

Alastair Westcoat was our ABSOLUTELY AMAZING marriage officer (who also married Steve Hoffmeyer and my sister to name a few)...

He was so accomodating and took us through all the legal steps on getting married.

Many of our guests came to us afterwards with loads of praise for the great way he married us... it was almost like an adventure as opposed to a borring ceremony.

My Captured Moments

My amazing brother, Mortimar Clark and his friend Jabu did the photos and video on our wedding day.

Mortimar has his own Photo Studio, called The Portrait Studio, which is situated on Lynwood Road.

We could never have asked for a better photographer! The photos surely speak for themselves!

The Wedding Planner

Yes..se used a special lady Selenta from Maids of Honour... she was sooo helpful and even drove to buy more flowers for the wedding venue... talk about going the extra mile!

Wedding Transport

Well my hubby arranged 2 beautiful cars allong with his car for our wedding... We had a Jaguar XE Sport, Jaguar F-Type 400 series and a Range Rover.

The boys used the XE... my father and I used the F-Type... and all the bridesmaids and everyone else fit into the Range Rover.

Food & Cake

My friend Cindy-Lee Joseph-Amien, did our wedsing cake... We decided to not go for the traditional cake, but rather macaroons and cup cakes... Our macaroons were black and pink. They tasted amazing! But in hindsight we may have chosen not to go with black macaroons.. as they temporarily blacken your teeth! Oops... haha

Wedding Stationery

We again didnt go the traditional route here... but decided to send our invitations via WhatsAp with a beautiful digital invitation, which my brother Mortimar Clark designed for us.

We also created our very own website for our guests to go and see all the details on the wedding as well as the Gift registry. http://theunslovescalista.co.za

The Reception and Entertainment

The reception was a beautiful princess fairy tale with lots of flowers and candles ... while gentle acoustic music played in the back ground.

We had a live musician sing for us while playing his guitar, John Masser... He was amazing and his price included a DJ!

He even sang the song that my husband and his mom danced on... It was quite special.
