Magical Moments

I am Muslim and as a Muslim we have a traditional wedding and a "modern" reception. The traditional part of the day was the Nikkah, the part where my husband takes an oath to be my life partner. This happens in the presence of my father, witnesses and the Imaam (Priest). Usually, females would stay at home while the nikkah is being held, I however chose to witness this and once those magical words were uttered, it took my breath away! It was the most beautiful thing to ever have witnessed.

The Honeymoon

Yes we left for honeymoon on the 24th of June 2019. Our first destination was at The Pearl Sky Hotel in Durban, we stayed there for 7 nights then headed off to Thailand, Phuket at the Deevana Patong Resort & Spa for another two weeks (currently still on honeymoon and enjoying every moment thereof).

My Special Day

I am naturally not a make up girl so I opted for a very natural soft look in which my friend had done for me.

My hair was done by myself as I had on a headgear.

My wedding dress was made by Shaheed Samaai (can be found on Instagram).

The lingerie was from Foshini and the accessories as well.

The Venue

We got married at the Husami Masjied in Cravenby Estate (traditional).

Our reception was then held at Barron's Estate Ottery. https://www.barronscaterers.co.za/wcontact.php

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I joined the gym (zone fitness) and did lots of cardio to be fit before the big day. I also went for a couple of facials at Annique Beauty Salon in Canal Walk. I went for a body scrub at Sorbet and I stuck to my all time favorite Colgate Charcoal to keep my teeth sparkly clean.

Wedding Elements

Our main Colours were burgendy and champagne.
Table cloths: bronze embossed with flowers
Chair covers: white tiffany chairs
Tiebacks: Burgendy bows
Napkins: Burgendy folded in plate
Centerpiece: maroon organza rouched, gold waterfall stand, cream and peach packed posy and spider gold stand, cream and peach packed posy.
Stage: Burgundy and champagne, white- fairy lights
Main table: 3D cream rose tablecloth
Isle stand: gold stick, crystal beads, peach and cream packed posy.
Carpet: Burgendy

My bridal bouquet was handmade with ribbon and Diamantes, made by Bling Bouquets by Sumaya (can be found on Facebook).

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom wore an Islamic attire for the Nikkah (Black & White).

For the reception the groom had on a Satern Blue Carducci suit and Champagne Waist Coat with a cravet (coincidentally the waist coat turned out to be the exact same fabric as my lining of my wedding dress).

The groomsmen hired their suits from Mr Suithir and they wore all black with a burgendy tie.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids wore burgendy and champagne lace and shifon dresses. It was a look that my mother and myself chose from our own imagination! The dresses were made by SA Inspired.

My Captured Moments

Our photographer was Perfect Moments Productions. Mahmood Parker and his crew really captured our momemts just the way we wanted it! The photos came out beautifully even in the rain! We did not make use of a photobooth, we took natural nature looking photos in the rain at the University of Cape Town and in Tokai Forest.

The Wedding Planner

I planned everything myself with the help of family.

Wedding Transport

My colleagues offered to drive my group in their BMW 125is.

Myself and my husband was driven in a BMW M4 by his friend.

Food & Cake

The food was prepared by Savory House (find them on Instagram and Facebook). The wedding cake was a three tier moist chocolate cake gifted to us from my aunt.

Wedding Stationery

We did not have any.

The Reception and Entertainment

We did not take any dance lessons. The sound was done by Barron's themselves and we had instrumental music playing throughout the event.
