There were so many incredible highlights from our special day! I will never forget the feeling, waking up on the morning of our wedding day, standing outside my room at beautiful Brenaissance in Stellenbosch and seeing the flowers being delivered and offloaded by Anli Wahl; that's when everything became real! We are getting married today!
My husband and I have been friends for over 10 years and I always knew that he was the one! The most memorable and exciting moment was just before I walked down the aisle. I could hear the orchestra playing and as I looked up I could see my husband (Sholto) waiting for me at the alter, I just couldn't wait to be with him and to vow to spend the rest of my life with him.
Our wedding planner gave us a private preview of our reception area, and I could not stop myself from tearing up as it was everything I have ever dreamed of; finally I was able to see and experience the results from all the months of planning, it was PERFECT and so worth all the work!!!
We decided to do something very different at our wedding and I will never forget when my mom, my mom in-law and sister-in-law did a mother daughter dance and it was magical and so beautiful.
I have always dreamed of wearing a Kobus Dippenaar original, and a big highlight of my day was having him dress me in my bespoke wedding dress. After months of planning and designing, I remember thinking how finally here I am standing in this beautiful gown, as he added my veil in preparation for my dad to see me - UNFORGETTABLE!
The ceremony was absolutely beautiful! God is the centre of our relationship, our home and our marriage. A highlight during the ceremony was serving one another Holy communion as husband and wife.
My amazing husband made my entire journey to becoming his wife, such a blast! I enjoyed being able to bring my dreams to life and having him support me and sharing in those dreams with me! Our day was absolutely spectacular and it was amazing to be able to share this day and share our love with our guests.
My amazing husband, who was my fiance at the time treated me to an amazing "pre-honeymoon" suprise to Mauritius- earlier in the year! It was absolutely gorgeous and just what we both needed. After the wedding which was into the winter season, we experienced some high rainy days and our choice for our honeymoon was perfect. We spent a few days at a winter lodge, cabin style called Kol Kol in the Overberg District, where we snuggled up at the fireplace, and has the most amazing massages, our stay there was followed by a trip to Hermanus where we booked into Misty waves boutique Hotel.

The month of June is a special month for Sholto and I as we both share our birthdays in June and therefore decided on a 1 June 2019 wedding date. Our theme for the wedding " Modern Vintage"
"The Dress"- My dress was designed and created by the AMAZING LEGENDARY - Kobus Dippenaar - https://kobusdippenaar.com/. The look I went for was a touch of romance, a touch of modern and a touch of classic with some vintage....... When I first met with Kobus, and he drew a design for me, I was so excited, it was elegant, beautiful, stylish and timeless my heart went YES!!!!
My hair was done in an up-style by Rosheen hair, it shouted modern vintage!
Bridal makeup was done by the talented Kayleigh Taylor, I looked and felt like a beautiful Queen! It was everything I wanted different - vintage, royal and modern all in one.
My shoes were absolutely stunning I bought them from - I heart Shoes
Hair accessories were made by- Kobus Dippenaar (Beautiful) and my earrings I brought from - Lovisa
I wore a tennis bracelet on my wedding day which was a gift from Grandmother.
Our wedding ceremony and reception took place at Brenaissance in Stellenbosch. This venue was absolutely exquisite and didnt require much or any changes as the finishes and design is a classic, with the most beautiful chapel on the wine farm.
We were accompanied by our parents and bridal party for the weekend at the venue.

The week leading up to my wedding apart from beauty treatments I wanted to relax and mentally prepare for my wedding day. I wanted to spend quality time with my immediate family and I decided to move home for a week as I no longer stay in the house. My mom prepared home cooked meals for me every night which was absolutely delicious which was followed by some much needed girl time!

The ceremony took place in the chapel , followed by celebratory drinks at the Sims cocktail bar- we had an personalised unlimited bubbly and cocktail bar. The decor at reception was so elegant yet romantic with candle light details, almost whimsical!

I had a specific look in mind for the bridesmaids and they looked incredible! Each bridesmaid chose their design for their dresses individually, I wanted them to feel and look beautiful! had a different style of dress. The dresses was designed and made by - Lachet Clothing
Upon my meeting with Lachet, I explained that I wanted the girls to be an extension of myself and they needed to stand out. I feel that often bridesmaids fall into the background, like an after thought and that was not what I wanted for my girls, I wanted them to stand out and look and feel incredible.
