Magical Moments

Where to start!
I was really excited to get married to my best friend. We are high school sweethearts and have been planning the wedding for 2 and a half years. So when the day finally arrived I couldn't contain my excitement. Getting ready with my Mom and sister was so much fun. My dad took me to see the hall after everything has been done, and it is a memory that I will treasure for ever.

Walking down the aisle was extremely emotional for me and Leigh as we have been waiting for it for so long. He started crying as soon as he saw me (I have video to proof it). Walking out of the chapel as Mr and Mrs Joubert is probably the first time it really hit me that this is really my wedding day!

During the evening we had a quite moment outside the hall just to take it all in. Everything was just as I wanted it and more!

The Honeymoon

We stayed at a 5 star hotel at Umlanga.
As I haven't been to the beach in more than 13 years it was just amazing to dip my feet in the sea. We were spoiled rotten and did everything we wanted too. Including eating ice-cream each and everyday (Because I am addicted :) )

The Venue

Cussonia Crest Wedding Venue
WOW! This venue just came out of my dreams and landed at my doorstep! It is just an hours drive from OR Tambo International airport and because most of my guest came from that area only a few stayed the night at the venue's accommodation. After the reception, there was a bon-fire were we could still mingle with our guests and enjoyed the feeling of being Just Married.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I was not a typical bride. As I was diagnosed with an auto immune disease a year before I was just extremely happy that I was healthy and could take part in everything that had to be done before my wedding. I had my hair hi-lighted a week before and that was basically it. Because of the illness I didn't want to do any treatments that would cause a flare and have me back in hospital. Being happy and healthy is all I wanted on my big day.

Wedding Elements

My flowers were succulents for the reception and Gerbra Daisies for my bouquet. My mom did everything, from growing the different succulents in our garden to planting them out about a month before. My dad made all the centre pieces by hand and my mom planted everything out and made sure everything looked absolutely amazing. My mom made my bouquet the day before.

Our venue did everything else. We delivered the centre piece 3 days before the wedding and when we got there the morning of our wedding all the wooden tables has been set up.

I loved the rustic look with no table clothes on and the Venue just knew how everything should be put together. They did an amazing job!

Marriage Officer

Ds. Dean Reiners

He has been our pastor from childhood and we couldn't ask anyone else as he is like a member of our family.

My Captured Moments

Chantelle Loots Photography
She is just amazing. Not just for the photos but all her energy on the wedding day just made everything more fun. She helped me calm my nerves just before I went in. She was everywhere and did anything to just get the perfect shot. Her photos tell a story and is just what I wanted. A little artsy and a whole lot of fun.

Food & Cake

The venue served a buffet that is still talked about amongst our guests.

My sister is a pastery chef and she did our wedding cake/cupcakes for us.
I hate cake and decided on my sister's non bake cheesecake. She made us a heart shaped blueberry cheesecake for the top and then made 4 different flavours (Blueberry, Strawberry, Passion Fruit and Bar One) from which the guest could choose. This was a hit and the cheesecake was finished before the desert was even served. It also displayed perfectly with the different layers against a home built cake stand (Thanks to my Dad).

Wedding Stationery

I designed all my stationery on my laptop with the help of my Hubby and had it printed by my local print shop.

The Reception and Entertainment

Gauteng DJ
He is the first vendor I booked! I just couldn't imagine my day without him. He just knows how to read a crowed and played songs that kept us on the dance floor until we had to ask every one to leave. He did the lighting as well and also captured our day with his Go-Pro. We received videos of our ceremony and reception. This was an amazing bonus and wasn't even aware of all the videos he was taking. He captured moments that we will treasure for ever
