Magical Moments

Our whole day ran perfectly according to plan; the weather was almost perfect (the wind just made the photos better :) and the setting, by the coast on a game reserve, was beautiful. We had an entourage of flower girls and page boys that made everything just so much more animated, innocent and love-filled! From amazing food, to awesome guests and stunning decor, our wedding day was pure bliss!

The Honeymoon

As we are both working, we have decided to go on honeymoon in the winter holidays.

My Special Day

I went for a very natural look. My gorgeous lace dress was designed and made by Johan Wolmarans in Port Elizabeth. Shelley Wood from Whiskey & Honey in PE did my make up and half-up hairdo. My wedding shoes were brown leather vellies from Zando. I wore white lace underwear which my sister bought for me at H&M in Italy. My pearl earrings were from Lovisa and I wore a pearl bracelet which belonged to my husband's great grandmother.

The Venue

We got married at Fort D' Acre reserve at the mouth of the Fish River in the Eastern Cape. Our guests were accommodated in Kleinemonde, Port Alfred, the Fish River Resort and other surrounding areas.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I stuck to my regular fitness routine leading up to the wedding. I used Susan Tladi from Grahamstown Pharmacy Beauty Salon to do facials and wedding nails before the wedding.

Wedding Elements

We went for a rustic look for our reception in the shed on the game reserve. We used drift wood, penny gum, pumpkin shells and white candles as decor on the tables. Fairy lights were draped above the tables and we had a wooden wreath hung behind the bridal table with our initials and wedding date. Wooden tables and white wooden chairs were used, as well as wooden pallets set up as a picnic table on the floor for the children.
Cheryl & Naartjie Moss did all our decor (and catering) and Val Hill did our wedding bouquets and wreaths as well as the greenery in the reception hall.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom wore a suit from Woolworths. The groomsmen wore dark navy suits hired from EllaV in Grahamstown, and leather suspenders which were purchased online in the UK.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My 5 sisters were my bridesmaids and they wore shades ranging from duck egg blue to dusty blue. Dresses were purchased online from Gelique in Cape Town and from YDE. They wore the same vellies that I wore.

Marriage Officer

We were married by Rev Glen Craig from Kenton-on-Sea.

My Captured Moments

Sophie of Sophie Smith photography captured our beautiful day in photos and Brad Jackson was our videographer who captured and compiled all the best moments from the day into an excellent short film.

The Wedding Planner

No.

Food & Cake

My sister, Monique Kyle, made our wedding cake. Cheryl Moss did all the catering at our wedding and the food was excellent, and well complimented by all the guests.

Wedding Stationery

I designed all our stationery, with the input of my husband, and we printed everything at home and at my mother-in-law's place of work.

The Reception and Entertainment

My husband and I went for four dance lessons before the wedding and danced our first dance to Skepe by Joe Black. Gary Botha was our DJ, and we danced late into the night, led by all the children :)
