Magical Moments

Our wedding day was absolutely unforgettable. Every detail came out the exact way we wanted it. My most memorable moment was when the doors of the church opened, and I saw my husband waiting at the end of the aisle for me, bursting into tears when he saw me for the first time. Our photographers and videographer captured memories we will treasure for a lifetime - it was truly a dream come true.

The Honeymoon

As a teacher, I only get holidays when schools break up for the term. So, we decided to go to Cape Town for a mini-moon just after our wedding for a few days to celebrate our first few days as Mr and Mrs. We spent our time in Franschhoek, touring wine farms and tasting wines - our favourite past time - and just soaking up being married. We hope to go on a beach escape honeymoon before our first wedding anniversary.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I did not change my fitness regime leading up to the wedding - I drank 2 litres of water a day and snacked on fruit and veggies. Being a teacher, I snack throughout the day; sometimes doing intermittent fasting as my teaching timetable did not allow for a break for lunch. My beauty regime consisted of cleansing and moisturising twice a day. I used a Clinique charcoal mask once a week to clear any impurities. I continued taking evening primrose oil and hair, skin and nail supplements.

Wedding Elements

Our reception decor was done by the amazing Michelle from Oopsie Daisy Flowers. The reception itself was decorated with mirrors and we did not add any additional flowers or fittings to the roof or walls, as it was elegant and beautiful as is. We wanted elegant and contemporary detail, opting for alternating centre pieces. Some tables had trumpet vases topped with flower arrangements in our wedding colours and others had silver glass lanterns with cascading flowers. Candles and votives complemented these arrangements. The main table had a cascading floral arrangement in front of where my husband and I sat, with an array of orchids, roses and more. This was complemented with fish bowl arrangements and timbis with floating candles. We also added uplighters to change the mood lighting of the room.
