Magical Moments

Our magical wedding has been 12 years in the making, I will never forget the look of overwhelming love on my husbands face as I walked down the aisle to join him at the altar.

Years of love and emotion all culminating into the moment when we said 'I do' and I got to marry my best friend in front our closest family and friends.

Our wedding was filled with heartfelt joy and countless moments we will cherish forever!

The Honeymoon

Straight after our Wedding weekend in Plett we jetted off to the tropical island of Mauritius and spent a week at Canonnier Beachcomber Resort.

We spent the week soaking up the sun, sipping cocktails, snorkeling, boat trips and island hopping, all while enjoying the local culture.

We loved the time to relax and enjoyed connecting with each other.

We can't wait to go back!

My Special Day

My wedding dress was custom made by the well know Port Elizabeth designer Jason Kieck, he perfectly captured my dream dress with delicate lace work, beading and flowing skirt.

This regal wedding gown was exactly what I had imagined and I truly felt like a princess.

The look could not be completed without the princess tiara to match!

My hair was styled by the talented Kim Reveley, owner of The Lounge hair Salon in Port Elizabeth. I wore my hair down in loose elegant curls with sections delicately pinned around my tiara.

My dramatic make-up look with bold burgundy lips and cut crease eye-shadow, which complimented the romantic theme of our wedding, was done by Bianca de Ridder a professional make-up artist from Knynsa.

My 'something borrowed' were my aunts vintage crystal tear drop earnings which she wore on her wedding day. She also happens to be my Maid of Honor.

Lastly to complete the look, I wore burgundy Mary Jane pumps. The pop of colour tied in with the wedding theme.

The Venue

Our ceremony and reception was held at The Rose Pavilion on Bosky Dell Rose Farm nestled in a secluded valley 10 minutes from Plettenberg Bay.

The Pavilion is at the centre of an award winning rose garden on Bosky Dell Farm and is surrounded by fynbos and natural forest.

The breathtaking atmosphere and stunning rose gardens was the perfect setting for our romantic wedding.

Our wedding party spent the weekend at the picturesque Fynbos Ridge Guest House, which overlooked the valley.

Wedding Elements

Flowers and Decor: Ecozest

‘Modern day elegance meets romantic boho chic’

Overall Look and Feel:
We love the dramatic colour palette of burgundy and pink tones. Our wedding floral design had a rich and full look with
bohemian inspired décor styling. The mood was set with dramatic flowers, beautiful contrasts, natural textures and trailing amaranthus, vintage silver and pewter tones, crystal glass ware and black candle detail.

Ceremony:
The circular ceremony arch structure was adorned with dark green foliage and florals that looked amazing against the green living wall. Black lanterns with candles stood at the base on both sides of the circular structure.
A Persian Carpet was placed at the front of the ceremony area where we said our wedding vows.
At the entrance to the ceremony area were two wine barrels on both sides with black lanterns and foliage and flowers arranged around them and trailing off the barrels.
At the back of the ceremony area was a beautiful old table holding a collection of silver bowls and trays filled with fresh petals used as a flower blessing after the ceremony.

After Ceremony Drinks:
The after-ceremony drinks were served on the lawn where the harvest table was set up with beautiful food for the guests. striking floral arrangement were placed on the harvest table.

Reception:
Suspended foliage and flower compositions hung above the tables with black rectangular metal and glass lanterns hanging down to provide light and visual impact. The flowers on the table were smaller accent pieces in a selection of
suitable vintage silver ware and crystal glass ware. Black and charcoal toned candles and tall dinner candles on glass candle sticks were scattered between the flowers. The suspended floral and foliage and lanterns created a beautiful full looking flowing effect.
Our lounge area had an oak wood whiskey and cigar bar which was a big hit!
The lounge areas consisted of wooden 4-seater couch with floral cushions and a natural linen ottoman as well as natural cane chairs.

The overall bohemian richness and abundance looked amazing.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom and his dapper groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos rented from Heinz in Style.

The timeless look was finished off with floral burgundy bow ties and matching pocket squares supplied from His Apparel.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

The bridesmaids dresses, where custom made by Jason Kieck who also made my bridal gown.

The dress designs differed from halter neck, wrap dress, boat neck and off the shoulder styles but all tied in together with the burgundy fabrics. The petal maids wore dusky pink chiffon dresses and the flower girls wore classic pearl white satin dresses to match my gown.

Jason made all the bridal retinue dresses and captured the theme of the wedding perfectly.

Although each dress style was unique it all blended together effortlessly.

Marriage Officer

Our ceremony was officiated by Derek Flanigan, a local pastor from George Vineyard Church.

Although we only met a few brief times and spoke over Skype calls, Derek put in a lot of effort to ensure our ceremony was filled with special sentiments and that personal touch.

His sermon was moving with the perfect balance of laughter and happy tears.
