Magical Moments

It is always special when your wedding day is exactly how you imagined it, however it is even more memorable when it exceeds all your expectations. Our wedding was an Interracial Fiesta with both Families ( Indian and Afrikaans) embracing each other whole heartedly. . . it was a reflection of our beautiful rainbow nation and confirmation that together we can make beautiful things happen. There were various parts of my wedding I enjoyed from the brightly colored attire, gastronomic food tasting menu (a bit unique and unexpected) and the stunning decor . However the part of the day that left everyone in tears (and me crying like a little baby) was when my Handsome Husband sang a song that he wrote. I was gobsmacked for words falling hopelessly in love all over again. . .

The Honeymoon

Unfortunately not...we had to fly up to be back at work the next day. . .

My Special Day

My wedding look was all about classical elegance. I wanted something bold but yet subtle at the same time. Talk about having your cake and eating it. . . . . However the amazing service provider that pulled of my look was Reena Hanuman (Makeupnthingz).

My hot pink wedding attire (that broke all the rules of Typical Hindu Wedding Bridal Attire) was purchased in India. I loved the fact that it was non-traditional and quirky.

I am definitely not one for heels so i had chosen a unusual alternative ... It was a pair of blinged out Gold Tommy Tekkies that were designed by Desi Design Therusha.

The Venue

My wedding venue was the whimsical Grand Exotic in Sheffield Beach, Salt Rock. The venue from the outside looks like something out of a Fairytale with its wood and iron walls painted a bright pink, perfectly manicured gardens and a beautiful temple dome being the focal point. The inside was just as breathtaking, with antiques, funky retro tin signs, and some delightful design motifs all thoughtfully positioned . The carved Balinese-style doors and windows were a perfect blend of East meets West which made this venue ever so perfect for us .

My Bridal Beauty Regime

All my beauty regimes were done by Perfect 10, Lephalale . This included nails and facials.

Wedding Elements

The amazing Candice Morphew, from Simply Fabulous Events put my vision into light. My vision was to have an Indian inspired vintage wedding. That included bright bold flowers (all flowers done by the fabulous Love Laugh Proteas) intermingled with everything antique (My husband and myself have a love for everything old, hence the decor choice). The lighting was soft and subtle -each table being lit by candle light, and a huge chandelier being the dance floor focal point . The seating was retro chic shades of blush pink and teal couches and chairs, whilst the tables were delicate paisley printed masterpieces . This set the mood perfectly

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The grooms men were a vision of Rajasthani Royalty. Each one encompassing the Indian Culture by using Turbans and looking ever so handsome . The Grooms outfit was purchased from a boutique store in Chennai, India.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My Gorgeous Bridesmaids wore saris that was bought from a Boutique store in India known as Silkworm. Their look was minimalistic yet classy. Their make-up was done by Ashmika Bikram.

Marriage Officer

My Marriage officer was Priest Suren Misra. He did a phenomenal job explaining the Hindu wedding Traditions in English.

My Captured Moments

The person that captured my special day was Elana Schilz. This lady is fabulous...she is a professional, talented photographer that is a true artist. Her meticulous eye for detail is captured in every shot she captures.

Dane Forman was my Videographer... this guy is so calm and collective that it was so easy and relaxing working with him. He captures the most natural footage all from the background and I loved this.. as nothing was staged.

The highlight of our cocktail hour was our Photo-booth that was done by Aisle Hire It. This kept guests busy whilst the bridal party took photos.

The Wedding Planner

I had the most fantastic Planner. Candice from Simply Fabulous Events, has done numerous events with my Family but by far this was one that she really had out done herself. She is so tentative to your likes and dislikes and her ideas are mind blowing. I could not have asked for a more talented person to plan my day . . she truly went over and beyond her call of duty.

Food & Cake

The idea of a 5 course tasting menu was a last minute decision that the chefs at Rocket Catering joyfully adapted to. The food was gastronomical with each course being just as delicious as the previous. My desserts were done by Chilli Chocolate Chefs each dessert was a piece of artwork so delicately crafted and Oh So beautiful. .

Wedding Stationery

My wedding stationary was done by the Talented Carla Brits....her work was amazing.
