The highlight of our wedding was when hubby to be and I walked into the church together. We didn't do the traditional walk down the isle with your father thing. Instead, my father walked me down a long isle with trees, with all the guests standing beside the walkway, and at the end of it my father gave me away to Jaco. After that all the guests took their seats in the church and that was when Jaco and I made our entrance.
Obviously the biggest highlight was finally saying the "yes" word and marrying my best friend, but let me tell you a bit more about our special day.
Our MC arranged a bit of a surprise for us. After all the formalities were done with, he used a certain phrase and all of a sudden all of our guests were on their feet, dancing to "London". They rehearsed this while we were taking our couple photos. I couldn't believe my eyes. This made our special day so much more memorable. The games that were played during the evening was also one of the funniest moments. I loved every second of it.
Last, but not least, was the amazing videographers and wedding co-coordinator that formed part of our day. They were in and out of dressing rooms, telling jokes, ensuring that the nerves were calmed. I loved them so much during this time, they all felt like family.
We went to Mauricia Beachcomber Resort and Spa in Mauritius.
I wanted an elegant wedding dress, that accentuated my body with a low back and straps, as dancing with a boob-tube always seems to be a bit of a mission for me.

Makeup by Rozaan, is the lady that did hair and make-up for myself and my bridesmaids, her work is out of this world and everyone looked absolutely stunning. With regards to make-up I went for a bit of a natural look, with colours that made my eyes "pop".

We got married in Pretoria, in the Tierpoort area, at a very special wedding venue called Imperfect Perfection.
12 weeks before the wedding I won a "Shredding for the Wedding" program from Live fit with Jenna.
I wanted our day to look like a fairytale, very romantic and elegant. There was a lot of greenery on the tables with Sylvia and King Proteas being the main focus. Old bottles were used as vases and the table numbers were all wooden letters. There were bulb and fairly lights inside the hall, hanging from the ceiling, as well as fairy lights outside on the deck area. We also had big wooded letter that spelled "liefde" and this lighted up our dessert table.
I wanted to go all out with the bride's table and had flowers hanging from the ceiling cascading down towards the table. My dreams and ideas I had were brought to life by Lene, who is the wedding coordinator.
The groom wore a grey suit, from Hydes, with a white shirt and a tan leather tie, with matching accessories.
The groomsmen wore dark grey chino pants from Woolworths, white shirts and tan leather bow ties.
The leather ties were bought from the Maximus Man.
Pinterest was my best friend during my planning stage. Most of my ideas for the bridesmaid look came from there.
My bridesmaids wore tulle skirts with sequence tops. They wore different shades of dusty colours; brown, dusty pink and pink.
The bridesmaid dresses were made by Muisneste.

Our photographers is a lovely couple by the name of Christo and Natasha. They ensured that they captured all of the emotion filled moments and they also set up their own photobooth that was open from after the main meal.
Their work is great and their turnaround time is amazing. They let you feel at ease.

There was never a dull moment with Jandre and Zandre in the room. They made jokes, made you feel comfortable and ensured that poses are absolutely perfect.
We were given a teaser of our video a short while after our wedding and their work is outstanding. There are no words to describe how talented these guys are.
