Magical Moments

From the moment ‘n opened my eyes on 9 November 2019, I tried to add every moment, even the smallest, to my ‘highlight reel’ for the day.

But nothing prepared me for the feeling I felt when I saw my future husband waiting for me on the most beautiful mountain-top with all our closest family & friends.

And even though the wrong song was playing & my dress & veil kept getting stuck to rocks & bushes; I made it to my husband and he immediately stole a kiss to everyone’s amusement. He was crying & I was a laughing, giddy mess. It was wonderful.

The heartfelt toasts that were made & the fun we had during the reception were another highlight for me. Even though so many things went awry (it was raining cats & dogs, the power went out, the champagne never made it to the tables, etc), we still had the best of times with our friends & family.

The Honeymoon

We went on Honeymoon to Bali, Indonesia. It was incredible! We had the best adventures & enjoyed the most beautiful scenery. But the best part of it all was the company. I could have been anywhere in the world as long as it was with him.

My Special Day

I was in love with my dress from the first time I saw it on Instagram. Apparently two of
My best friends felt the same & sent photos to me just hours apart (on that same day). The moment I put that dress on, I knew it was the one. And despite doing fittings with a few other bridal houses, I eventually went back to claim my dream dress with the help of my wedding party.
It was the Arya dress by Mila Nova from Vonvé Bridal Couture, and it was everything I ever dreamed of.
My make-up was done by the wonderful Makeup by Nerina & my hair by Carla Potgieter at Belissima Hairsalon. Both of them went out of their ways to bring everything together and I couldn’t have asked for any better. Everything was perfect.

The Venue

We got married at Evergreen Estate in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga. A hidden gem among the mountains bordering Swaziland. It was magical.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I maintained a healthy diet & did a few Bodytec sessions before the big day.
I also did bi-monthly Micro-needling & Chemical Peels with Lezelle Meyer Academy & Beauty Clinic.

Wedding Elements

We wanted to keep everything simple, because we had the most beautiful open-air venue in the mountains. We used decor from Bride In Bloom. Our flowers & greenery were supplier by Sonja Du Toit.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom & groomsmen wore trendy open-ankle trousers from Zara. The groom wore the most beautiful leather-tie from Maximus Man. The customised badges they wore we made by MU Studio.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My Bridesmaids wore customised dresses by Brigitte Schmidt. They each chose their own design & colour from my 'pre-approved'list, as I wanted the dresses to be something that they would wear again.

Marriage Officer

Our Marriage Officer was Riaan Du Bruyn from Piet Retief.

My Captured Moments

Hanri Human Photography captured our day in the most wonderful, magical way possible.
We also used Hero Pictures as our videographer.

The Reception and Entertainment

We did not take any dance lessons (to our dismay and amusement on the evening). We made use of The Wedding Gents as our DJ's for the evening.
