Magical Moments

The weather is definitely one of the most memorable/stressful memories.
It stormed the entire week leading up to our wedding day, especially the (friday) night before as well as the day after (sunday). But to some miracle the rain and skies cleared up for us on the saturday and we had the most perfect summer's day.

We also had three white butterflies appear and which flew down the aisle with us, as my dad escorted me to my future husband. To the surpise of our guests, we had three memorial candles waiting to be lit later that evening, during the reception. We like to think those late family members were there with us on our special day.

Following our reception, while settling in at the Farm we had booked to stay after the wedding, I tripped and fell, while still wearing my wedding dress, causing my elbow to dislocate. My husband rushed me to the emergency room, where we spent majority of our wedding night. The doctors performed x-rays and then sedate me to basically reset my elbow and pop the bone back into its socket. I was in a sling for 6 weeks and am still undergoing physiotherapy for the injury. Other than that lol our day was completely perfect!

The Honeymoon

Due to the injury sustained on our wedding night, I had to see a physio therapist first thing monday morning after our wedding. So we spent the first week at home, while my new husband had to dress, shower and basically help me with everything. We ended up going to Durban on honeymoon, the following week, where i was still in a sling and therefore restricted from doing any water and adventurous activites (considering that both hotels we stayed at had water parks).

The Venue

We exchanged out vows at Cavalli stud and wine estate in stellenbosch

My parents, bridesmaids and myself stayed over the night before and got wedding ready at Stay at Chabivin in Paradyskloof.

The night of the wedding was spent at Bellvue Manor Farm, Stellenbosch (which is also where the Groom and his groomsmen stayed the night before.)

Cavalli Estate

Wedding Elements

Joli creations and designs was out one stop shop for the day. Morne Visser and his team provided everything we needed for the day in terms flowers, décor and lighting.
Our colour palette for the day was cream, black, gold and blush pink.
I chose white tulips, hydrangeas, with avalanche and café latte roses as our feature flowers with greenery to make them pop. This was set up in the sunken garden where our ceremony was performed as well as in the main venue where our reception was held.

The décor in the reception venue was set per every alternate table with high and low centre-pieces respectively. These centre pieces as well as the vases and underplates were all black, amongst crystal candle holders.

The theme followed through with our invitations, which were black Perspex with gold vinyl printing on it, these were also supplied and created by Joli.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom and groomsmen went classic with a plain black colour scheme.
The Groom and groomsmen, as well as the Father of the Bride, rented their suits from Euro Suit in Canal Walk.

My husband wore a black tuxedo with white Polo shirt and black skinny tie. He finished the suit off with Polo Cufflinks and plain black, laceless shoes.
The groomsmen wore full black- plain black suits with black shirts, shoes and ties. They had satin nude pockets squares to break the black and to match the bridemaid's dresses.
My dad wore a black tuxedo with a white shirt, bowtie and gold cufflinks (which belonged to my late grandfather).

My husband bought the boys all matching blue socks with light blue and white polka dots on them (from Woolworths) to add a fun element to the look.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids were dressed in off the shoulder, floor length gowns which were made by a independent dress maker.
The gowns were made of sand coloured Scuba material.
They wore nude coloured block heel shoes and earrings from Lovisa SA.
Their hair and makeup was done by Gloss Up Girl and Esther from Shalom Hair (the same team who did mine).
Their flowers bouquets, supplied by Joli creations and designs, were single-stemmed cream coloured Hydrangeas.

Marriage Officer

Our ceremony was performed by Father Xola from All Saints Anglican Church in Belhar.

My Captured Moments

Tru-Art photography and Videography documented our day.
Our photos were taken by Igor Poltzenhagen and the videos were filmed by Popped Red Balloon.

The Wedding Planner

Morne Visser and his team from Joli Creations and Designs helped will all our planning and sourcing of all décor and furniture as well as on the day co-ordination.

Food & Cake

Our food was catered for by Cavalli Estates restaurant.

Our wedding cake was made by Sweet Utopia. It was made up of a single (8mm) chocolate cake with butter cream icing and 200 cream coloured macaroons filled with alternate ganache flavours of pistachio, chocolate, hazelnut and caramel.

Wedding Stationery

Joli Creations and designs supplied all out stationery and invitations as well.

Everything was Black with gold printing. This includes our seating chart as well.

The Reception and Entertainment

We had a solo guitarist who played music during the arrival of the guests, prior to our ceremony.
The rest of the band, Sans of Time, joined him for the reception where they performed for the first half of the ceremony.
We had a DJ who took over for the party section of the night as well.
