Our wedding reception was at an art gallery and we had to hire in everything and I did all the décor myself. Seeing everything come together so stylishly was incredible. When you walk down the aisle (as nerve wrecking as it sounds), seeing your groom and all the 120 friends and family together to witness this commitment before God is indescribable.

Our wedding ceremony was at Saint George's Church in Parktown, Johannesburg and our reception was at Art it is Gallery 5km from the church. Most of our guests are from Johannesburg and the guests that travelled from far, stayed in guesthouses in the area.

I kept to my daily fitness program together with my husband at Virgin Active. I maintained a balanced diet, cutting out sugar and drinking at least 6 glasses of water per day.
Both the church and the art gallery has their own sense of character. The church provided their own flowers, which was mainly white flowers at the altar. The art gallery has an industrial look with glass windows. We made use of their modern white paintings. White and rose gold was the décor colours, this included white orchids in rose gold pots with rose gold bottles for the candles. We had wooden tables, white tiffany chairs, rose gold cutlery and white overlays on the tables.

The groom wore a classic navy suit, navy tie, white shirt, brown leather shoes and brown leather belt.
The groomsmen wore matching navy pants, white shirts, brown lether shoes and belt.
They all wore matching boutonniere out of succulents.
The bridesmaids wore modern cut, off shoulder floral dresses with a hint of rose gold. This not only matched the wedding colours, but also my modern wedding dress.

Our reception was so much fun. It was a warm Spring day in Johannesburg. Guests arrived at the gallery with live music and canapés. We made an entrance with the car and entertained our guests with our first dance. We went for dance lessons in preparation. Our guests danced the night away with music from our dj. The gallery has natural mood lighting, so no extra lighting was necessary.
