Magical Moments

I had the best Maid of Honour and Bridesmaid. My bridesmaid was my brother's Polish girlfriend. They traveled from the UK to be here for our wedding! My Maid of Honour is the best friend a girl could ask for. She traveled from Durban to be with me. And of course, having my mom by my side too was so special. We are very close.

Getting my make up done was such a highlight for me. I felt so beautiful!

But most memorable was definitely walking down the aisle. It was so surreal and emotional. The reception was so awesome and the speeches were fantastic! We danced until our feet ached, into the early hours of the morning! Epic party!

The Honeymoon

We left on 11 August 2018 to jet off to Mauritius for 7 days. It was my husband's first overseas trip, ever!!

Mauritius was absolute paradise. We ate and drank ourselves into a stupor because the resort was all inclusive!

We swam with dolphins in the deep ocean and traveled around the island for a day, taking in the most stunning sites and we experienced such diverse and welcoming cultures. Truly humbling. The rest of the time was spent lying on the beach or around the pool.

It was a very special and memorable honeymoon.

My Special Day

My wedding look was modern but timeless at the same time. I don't like 'over the top' and so I worked on the premise of 'less is more'! It paid off!

My make up wasn't light and it wasn't dark, it was perfectly done and so romantic. My make up artist was Missy van der Walt. She is known as Missy Make-Up Artist. She only uses MAC products. She came highly recommended from a close friend who had used her last year for her wedding! Missy is worth every cent.

My hair was done in a modern take on a French Roll and I had a beautiful, diamante clip in the side of my hair. My hairdresser was Courtney Schmidt.

My dress. Oh my dress!!!! It was a Blue by Enzoani dress that was imported. The style was called Kathy. It was an ivory mermaid style dress with a sweetheart neckline. It had a bit of lace detail with crystals. The bottom of the dress was made of layers of tuille that led into a train at the back. It had a low back. I felt like a queen in my dress and what made it even more special was that my husband bought it for me! He saw it for the first time when I walked down the aisle! My dress fit my personality perfectly and from the first time I tried it on I told my mom it was 'The One'! I felt just like me in it. I bought my dress, and hired my hoop and veil from Whimsical Bridal. They are a gorgeous bridal boutique in Centurion. Elmarie is a seamstress goddess and so kind and understanding.

My shoes were a nightmare to find, only because I can't wear certain styles of high heels. Believe it or not, I bought my shoes from the Oriental Plaza in Johannesburg. They had lace flowers with diamantes on! Absolutely stunning!

My earrings and hair clip was from a china mall and my tennis bracelet was a gift from my groom for our special day!

The Venue

We got married at Toadbury Hall in Elandsdrift, Johanesburg. it is a five star venue and it showed! The food was world class and the service was amazing from start to finish.

Some of our guests stayed the night at Toadbury Hall in the hotel. We all had a fantastic breakfast together the next morning.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I tried to eat well but unfortunately didn't gym as much as I wanted to.

I started exfoliating my skin more and started using a special gel created by my doctor that reduced my bad pigmentation I had under my eyes. Worth every cent!

I had my nails, pedicure with gel toes and my spray tan at Top Coat Beauty Lounge in Centurion. I wouldn't have gone anywhere else because I have been a Client for 4 years!

Wedding Elements

My flowers and decor were done by The Bloom Room. I used plum and white calla lilies, white roses, grey penny gum,and baby's breath. Cindy and Courtney were very helpful.

The draping in the reception was done by Marna at Spectacular Occasions.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

Devon bought his suit, shirt and shoes from Khaliques in Cedar Square. The Groomsmens' suits were hired from Dress Suit and Tux Hire in Lonehill. Their shirts and shoes were their own.

I bought all their ties from Hyde's Man's Shop in East Rand Mall.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

I had my girls' dresses made at Peaches and Spice in Castle Walk Centre in Pretoria East.

The design was from a photo I found on Pinterest.

Tamarin at Peaches and Spice was amazing, especially because Lois was in Durban and Aga was in the UK. Their dresses were perfect when we went to pick them up.

I bought their earrings from Lovisa.

My Captured Moments

We used Duck Soup Productions as our wedding photographers and videographers.

They also did our engagement shoot! We are still getting compliments!

Eugene and his team were fantastic. So much fun and so many laughs shared!

The Wedding Planner

Melissa Du Preez from Toadbury Hall was great! Nothing was too much for her and everything went off really smoothly on the day.

Wedding Transport

We didn't need any wedding transport.

Food & Cake

Our menu was prepared by Toadbury Hall. All our guests complimented us on how amazing all the food was!

Our cake was made by Sweet Joy. I won a voucher for the cake from the Oakfields Wedding Expo earlier this year. Karin and Joy were so sweet! :-) Our cake looked just like the picture I gave the ladies.

Our guests couldn't stop raving about our cake. I have such a phobia of cake being dry and our cake was anything but dry! It was phenomenal.

Wedding Stationery

My wedding stationary was done by Trendy Settings. Eloise was fantastic!

The Reception and Entertainment

Our reception was perfect!

We discussed taking dance lessons but then decided against it because we wanted our dance to be about us and for us to truly be in the moment.

I had done a dedication to Devon on 947 in 2016 (a local radio station in Gauteng) with Darren 'Whackhead' Simpson when he was on the breakfast show. I dedicated the song Ellie Goulding How Long Will I Love You to Devon. I managed to get a copy of the recording after the show and then for our wedding had our DJ play the clip first (to Devon's surprise!!) as a lead into our first dance to that Ellie Goulding song! It was magical!

Our DJ and lighting was from Cream Cheese DJs. Morne and Morgan were creative, professional and so much fun to work with!
