How did your love story begin?

A mutual friend introduced us and 1 week later, for valentines, we watched an outdoor movie; had a picnic under the stars and danced the night away.. I should have known then and there, but it took us a year to finally make it official. We have been madly inlove since!

Tell us all about the proposal.

Phillip surprised me with a picnic high up in the mountain on his farm. He was so calm and relaxed, I never could have expected that he would go down on one knee and promise his eternal love to me on that beautiful, perfect day. He had prepared all my favourite snacks and brought extra champagne. We watched the sun go down over the Tulbagh valley and wished that the day could last forever

Magical Moments

My fairytale started with being spoilt by the best bridesmaids in the world: coffee in bed; Tulbagh Hotel breakfast delivered to the beautiful Honeymoon Suite and real french Champagne. After a week of rain and snow, we were blessed with a perfect sunny day! My favourite moment of the day was standing at the beginning of the isle, next to my dad and seeing my husband-to-be look at me with so much love and devotion. We ended up literally dancing the night away!!

The Honeymoon

My husband treated us to a week in Mauritius. We stayed at the Beachcomber resort- Le Cannonier. Sun.. Beach.. Cocktails... It was magical!!

My Special Day

We had a formal Winter wedding with warm colours- burgandy, blush, gold and green. Anli Wahl did the flowers and decor and it was absolutely breathtaking. My dress (made by Elbeth Gillis) and hair & make-up (done by Corle Barnard) were bold and dramatic. I wore my mother's Marbie pearl earrings (my something borrowed). The men looked so handsome in formal black suits. I opted for comfortable burgandy Green cross shoes...I knew there would be alot of dancing!!

The Venue

The service was in Tulbagh N.G. church and reception at the beautiful Mont Rouge wedding venue. Our guests stayed all over Tulbagh, including Mont Rouge cottages, Big sky Villa, Tulbagh Heritage Hotel etc.

My Captured Moments

My photographer, JaniB, was so much more than just a photographer. She guided me through every step leading up to the wedding as well as on the day. She was in charge of the time line and I could just sit back and enjoy every moment!
FJS productions did our wedding video and they were so much fun to be around! We ended up feeling like old friends.
