Magical Moments

The best moment of our wedding definitely was walking down that isle. It is a feeling one cant describe its all your emotions at one time and your mind thinking this is it for the rest of your life the moment you have been waiting for and dreaming of since you've been little. Meeting my father in front of the church I could feel he is tense and overflown with emotions for one that never shows any emotions. You can feel the love and all the tears of happiness as you walk down I barley kept myself in place from nearly breaking down shudder crying but the tears was flowing and my heart beating quickly and so hard. The feeling is more than one can ever imagine. And putting on the rings making it officially was very magical as well. And to make our wedding different and special was having the wedding bashers there because how many people said they had their wedding filmed and to be on the TV. The funniest part of our wedding was when my husband should have made his speech he came prepared with a plastic painting suit not to get his hired suit wet or dirty but he barely came out on "Ek's 'n dapper muis" and they ripped of his suit and really had him had it like no one has ever seen before. He read his speech to me on our honeymoon.

The Honeymoon

Yes. We did a mini honeymoon until the real honeymoon next year when the finances look better. We went to Cederberg kloof nature reserve and the went to Jacobsbaai and stayed at the De ware Jacob most amazing place and then went to Sea point and came back home. We went to a lot of place did sight seeing to which we usually don't have time for because the weekend is so short.

My Special Day

My wedding dress I had made from Bridal aisle in milnerton but was made to big so I had it altered here in vredendal by Roxanne Burger from RoxyB designs. My dress was boho but elegant making it beautiful and comfortable at the same time. I wore purple satin shoes with flowers on them to fit the theme. The only lingerie I had on was undwear which I bought from woolworths but glammed it up a bit to make it more special. My garter I made myself. My wristband was made by Riana Langeveldt from RL designs. My hair was done by Annelie it was a curly half up do to the side with a braid on the side and my make up was done by Marelize van Dyk from Dollface make up with a lot of plum to accentuated my eyes and to incorporate my colour with some beautiful fake lashes.

The Venue

We got married at Letsatsi Lodge in Vanrhynsdorp nearby us. The venue cater for everything. They have the venue and church and places for everybody to stay. They have someone that did the décor and made the food and even made our wedding cake. Definitely the place to book for your wedding and so affordable.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I tried very hard to eat healty and train but with all the stress for me it was impossible and my husband knows how I look like and still loves me and wants to marry me. My wedding dress was made to fit me not I the wedding dress. I am very happy and comfortable with my looks, everybody should embrace it.

Wedding Elements

It was a very forestay but yet elegant look. With leaf garlands and bulbs hanging above all the tables, fairy lights behind our table, leafs with flowers from the one side to the table to the other incorporating colours from purple, white, blue, green and rose gold and peacock glass holders and bark like pencils as gifts for the guests. It was magical, welcoming, warm and everything beyond my expectations.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

My husband wore a navy suit which we hired from suit hire in Stellenbosch. The groomsmen wore brown chinos (Woolworths) with white shirts and navy ties that we gave them as a gift.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaid wore purple infinity dresses so they can look they same but still different as their dresses were all folded differently. The dresses are comfortable and they can wear it again and the colour fit in with our colours and the time of the year. And we gave them peacock feather earrings as a gift to fit the theme.

Marriage Officer

We had pastor Fourie from our church here in Vredendal marry us.

My Captured Moments

We only had a photographer her name is Desi Kotze and a camera crew for filming the mnet tv show wedding bashers to which we look very forward to. We made a photobooth ourselves just to add more DIY to the wedding and to save some costs.

The Wedding Planner

No we did the planning ourselves. The venue has a coordinator that did all our décor.

Wedding Transport

We had my fathers old but classic Datsun as our wedding car which made it a very sentimental point for us.

Food & Cake

The venue Letsatsi Lodge made all our food and Wessels from Kokkedoor made our wedding cake. He works for them at their lodge in Upington.

Wedding Stationery

My cousin designed our save the date and our invitations. We had the printing done at our local printing shop and made the invitations and envelopes ourselves. We love DIY and being involved with our wedding, it made it more special for us and our guest too.

The Reception and Entertainment

We had a DJ for our reception, no special lighting or effects. Just the décor lights and candles and then the lights of the venue. We love dancing so no dance lessons were needed. Our wedding was very plain but so enjoyable for us and our friends.
